While impatiently waiting for delivery of a Genelec F Two subwoofer, I am thinking of alternate ways to employ it. I plan to use it long term with Genelec 8040B monitors. But, I think it will also work quite well with my 8330A/GLM setup. (I had a pair of 7350A subs, and sold them to buy the F Two). I can calibrate the 8330A pair full range and store the result in the monitors. Then can feed analog signal from F Two to them with 85 Hz high pass filter of the sub turned on. Remote volume control for sub will also control monitors volume.

Anyone have a similar setup? Are there any pitfalls?

Best order, IMO:
  1. Apply full-range anechoic loudspeaker correction.
  2. Manually integrate the Sub with every tool that you have access to (Placement, Xover, Level, Phase, Delay etc.)
  3. Measure the L+R+Sub in-room response and apply room correction on top of the anechoic correction, up to the Schröder frequency of your room (not full-range).
Using GLM for that is suboptimal as A: it doesn't support MMM and B: it can only modify the Satellite response. The Sub remains untouched.
