One could argue that neither black nor white is a color, meaning that grey isn't a color either. And the RAW version doesn't even have paint.

Genelec are actually going: "No color for you!" :D

It says that Genelec is in Lisalmi, Finland (A Facebook location thing)
So you read it correctly ;)
Odd that they'd mix the scripts like that... but not being a Face-thingie user, the peculiarities never occur to me. :D

Just a quick update. I've currently removed my pair of subs and am running the 8361A's as a stand-alone stereo pair. This has lost me 9Hz of bottom end in room response (from the 14Hz with the subs up to 23Hz on their own). That results in a slightly less full and solid imaging. However, it cleans up performance and brings out detail, dynamism and tonality in the 8361A's. Worth trying for those using small to medium sized listening rooms or studios.

Doesn't make sense. 8361a should now have more distortion without the sub.

Sounds like you may not have had the crossover to the sub calibrated properly. Obviously mids and tweeter should be the same.

And yes I have tried it.

I sold my 7360 (to an ASR member) because I found the sub wasn’t necessary to listen to music. I already got good response via room loading for my 8361s down to 23Hz with hefty feeling bass. That is enough for me! Main reason to sell was to reduce clutter in the living room. On the other hand, I love having a 7350 with my 8331s.

So is it possible to call the 8361 "full range"?
Depends.

90% of music and movie soundtracks do not have meaningful content outside of the 8361A's capabilities, and so I'd be inclined to call it "practically full-range".

However, if you care about infrasonics, then it's not difficult to find content that the 8361A alone will struggle with (e.g. movies with BassEQ applied).

Depends, for me, yes it would be full range. I wouldn't use them for movies, listen position would be 2 - 2.5 meters and The Beatles Come Together or Nilisson Jump Into The Fire are good examples of bass requirements.

Depends what you mean by full range. Also whether you want it for movies, for which -6db down at 23 hz is definitely not full range. It’s fine for me though and I don’t feel I need more for the music I enjoy. Bass lines and organs all sound excellent!

To my knowledge, full range usually means 20Hz to 20Khz.

In my room the 8361s measure from 25Hz at-3. That’s maybe not entirely, but pretty full range.

Knowing both of the mentioned Sopras. They don’t play deeper despite their size.

Good to know . I am not buying sub till I finish room treatment.

100% agree with this. Sometimes domestic peace is non negotiable.

Depends on the SPL requested but yes at higher SPL it will have more distortion.

My 8351s sounded significantly better / clearer with subs. I guess it would depend on your room / placement and how that affected the low end, but in my use case taking the strain off them was easily noticeable in a positive way. I wasn't listening loud usually either.
