Two Genelec 7350 is also very good sounding, but cant play as loud as 7360. 7350 has GLM, and for half the price it might be more bang for the buck.
If you read the manual for 8340 you can see the maximum spl for two 8340 and depending on the wall material in your flat or house , the room gain are gonna give you very different results. With concrete walls two 7350 might be enough and more balanced with two 8340 regarding max spl.
Thanks for the tip! Yes, my walls are of concrete.Do you think should I go for 2 Genelec 7350 to get better bass integration and push my 2 SVS behind the couch? or do you think SVS in the room is a over kill when I have 7350?

Its hard to give advices because your SVS subs are really good, and you already have two of them wich is good. A way to get better integration is to plug the 8340 bass pipe with a sock, making it a closed box to get better integration with the two SVS . With 7350 and GLM you dont need to do this because the slope of the crossover is correct without plugging the 8340. A try at home without buying the 7350 is maybe a good advice.

Edit: better integration with SVS can also be done with the two subwoofers placed near each plugged L/R 8340, and playing the subwoofers in stereo. But that might ruin your 5.1 setup.

After very, very hard decision making, today i pulled the trigger and ordered pair of 8340. The (only for me) option for 8340 was 8330. Difference in amp`s, was the main reason for this decision. Sometimes (rarely) i like to play very loud. Difference in price here in Finland was about 1000 euros, in black colour.

From what i`ve heard in local store, the difference in sound quality, was not the reason to go to 8340. They sounded pretty close to 8330`s in my opinion (only the low end of 8340`s were better).

8330 - D-class Bass-50W D-class Treble 50W SPL 104dB 45Hz-23kHz
8340 - D-class Bass-150W D-class Treble 150W SPL 110dB 38Hz-22kHz

For years i have been listening G2 and M030 models. And i absolutely love both of them. G2 in near field position and M030 as main speakers.

I also have 7350A sub. Just wondering, if that is anymore needed. I will get new speakers 1-2 weeks from this day.

One of the reasons to go for Genelec is the trust i have in company if there is any problems. I think they still offer support for at least 20 years for repair and spare parts. In fact, my friend had his +20 year speakers repaired, just year ago.

And also, moved into a smaller apartment recently. So after long comparison (budget wise also). My desision was get pair of 8340. After those arrive, I have to make desision to either sell or keep the 7350 sub.

Did you buy the GLM Kit? That is needed to get the most out of your Genelecs.

I have the GLM already. And have used that, with the 7350sub, which i have. In store, there was possible to compare 7330/7340 with and without GLM. Difference was huge, in my opinion. Midrange got crystall clear in a good way with GLM, also almost all boominest with lower freq. were gone. I was very impressed with GLM. I also "hate" boominess in low freq., find that very, very tirening to listen.

I’ve two pairs 8330A in my small home office, with one of the pairs having an 7360A subwoofer. It sounds much better when using GLM room correction.

For using the latest version 4.1 of the GLM software you need to check that the firmware is updated on the monitors, subwoofer and the GLM Kit.

There is also possibility, that i could use two 7350`s with the 8340 pair. But just have to wait till i get new speakers to determine how it sounds. This will be very long waiting. 1-2 weeks, after this decision which took over an year to make, feels eternity now. Just now, listening Pink Floyd`s Wall. Not bad at all, with this downgrade to G2 and 7350sub.

I bought the 7350A first for my 8330A but returned it for the 7360A as I found it a bit too weak for me.

And, of course there is possibility to manually adjust (or fine adjust!) the GLM to match your references. I was also in the edge of buying 7360 insted of 7350, but decided that the SPL (and 22 Hz-160 Hz vs 19 Hz-150 Hz) met my needs within budget. I am very satisfied, how the 7350 handles low freq. I am sure that 7360 does even better compared to 7350.

From my own experienses and messages from Genelec (asked them about this subject), (main, but not only) difference with 7350 and 7360 is the used SPL. To me, high SPL, isn`t that important. Otherwise, no doubt, i would got 7360 over 7350.

I look forward to read about the eventual need to keep the 7350. Im about to buy a 7350 myself, but driving my 8340 alone with GLM and digital input sounds very good, and the bass is perfectly integrated.:)
I only miss the deepest bass on some recordings that I know from history ( when I had two DIY subs ) has a lot of deep bass.

Just got message, that 8340`s will arrive next weeks tuesday. Unfortunately, my night shifts end friday. So, it will take at least next weeks weekend to test these. Early Christmass for me anyway!

Here`s some side comparison from left to right G1, G2, G3 and G4. Except weight, dimensions are excatly same as 8010-8040 or 8320-8340 (there isn`t SAM-model for 8010/G1 size).

Hi,
Really interesting to hear your first impressions about 8340.
I also bought mine one month ago.

These are my first Genelec speakers and setting up GLM and rest of the setup is still a bit in progress.
