The 8331's input is analog/digital (depending on what was selected in glm software). The bigger "ones"-speakers have separate inputs. If you look into genelec's product portfolio the range of glm capable speakers with digital input has been gradually expanded. But as glm on its own costs about 300 Euro it does not make sense to include this with their cheaper speakers.Hope this doesn't derail the thread but why do so many genelec speakers only have an analog xlr input?

don't they all use dsp tho? I'd think a robust xlr analog input in addition to an ADC would be more expensive than a bog standard digital input and no ADCThe 8331's input is analog/digital (depending on what was selected in glm software). AFAIK the only model that uses DSP but doesn't include digital input is 8320 and that is probably just because of limited space on the panel (AES through wouldn't fit), all the rest have digital in or either they aren't DSP based like 80xx, 40xx, 70xx, G rangedon't they all use dsp tho? Thank you for your message and interestthat's my experience with trinnov and genelecs, almost all aspects were worse after the trinnov, from phase to decay. I happily returned it and didn't look back
It was some time ago and I removed the measurements. I started with automatic calibration but it boosted midrange for some reason making it sound harsh. So I limited the range to 500Hz or so, as I used 8351 which doesn't need any "fixing" above that. It changed the things that didn't really need change making it worse than just GLM correction, like phase, as it's already perfect in higher end Genelecs with phase correction in GLM. Even Dirac was more transparent in the low end. Then I got W371A partially with the money I didn't spend on Nova and any correction after GLM stopped making sense. Trinnov is a weird product, it makes sense for some bad speakers in/or a bad room, but who would want to spend 6000€ for room correction (4 outputs with a mic and remote) when using bad speakers in/or a bad room? Better speakers and room treatment would cost less. Maybe if one uses expensive non-dsp monitors like ATC and Dirac is not expensive enough?Thank you for your message and interest
Do you have any measurements to share with me?(GLM vs Trinnov )
Were you in Automatic mode with trinnov?
or manual adjustment?

yes, mixing and masteringThank you for this feedback
Do you work in the field of sound?
ah I thought to myself, reading your messages since the beginning of my Genelec thread, I felt the professional expertise of soundyes, mixing and mastering
