PS I have surprisingly clear memories of going, as a pretty young child, to my maternal grandparents' house in Glen Burnie, MD (a rather cool mid-century modern abode, actually) and watching The Flinstones, Johnny Quest, and Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (and sometimes Bonanza) on their (1950s-era) RCA CTC-5 console color TV (21 inch roundie). They were very early adopters of color TV and must've paid a pretty penny for that CTC-5 when they bought it (new). We did not have a color TV until somewhat later in the 1960s - an even older RCA CTC-4 that my father (a TV repairman by trade) acquired from one of his customers.

I can still smell the pervasive after-odor of my grandfather's El Producto cigars. The house was saturated with it.

My father was still smoking like a chimney in those days... but not cigars. He referred to the nasty stogies his father-in-law favored as El Rope-os.
