On that note, the best life advice I ever read was in a woodworking magazine. A reader wrote to say that he has been a hobbyist woodworker for years and now wants to get into the business. The magazine editor wrote back:

"The best way to ruin a great hobby is to turn it into a business!"

Can't tell you how often I run into audiophiles who lust after getting into audio business. Making audio equipment has nothing to do with listening and enjoying one.

Manufacturing, selling, repairing, they're all the same. Once you step on the other side of the counter (so to speak) and the main objective changes from pleasure to making money, after a while you take on a whole new perspective.
