I’m also a huge fan of the Big Phat Synth-driven production of many R&B and funk records from approx ‘78 to late 80s, with early 80s being prime. SOS band, midnight star and others:

Funk brother! I probably would have posted the first two tracks myself eventually. Maybe my favorite cut from Change. It was my selection when it was my turn to play "anything" on the work stereo once. Likewise Movin' is in my liked-songs list somewhere.

Led Zeppelin mixes funk into two of their songs that I like: Trampled Under Foot and Custard Pie

When a girlfriend of mine heard Custard Pie, she said:
I don't think I've ever eaten Custard Pie.
To which I replied:
I'm sure that if you had, you wouldn't have forgotten it.

I then threw in a few suggestive remarks before telling her what the song is actually about.
(Bear in mind that she was a Swedish girl who didn't have the English language or culture in her blood, so it’s understandable that she didn’t grasp what the song was about.)

I created a playlist based on the suggestions you shared in the thread. I couldn't find a few of the songs, and I didn't add full albums—just individual tracks. Now we have 12 hours and 20 minutes of funk and funk-inspired songs to listen to.

Yes! Have enjoyed that Kleeer track for a long time! Admittedly, I’m a sucker for anything with vocoder.

I was the guy making all the dance mixed tapes for parties and I still have a bunch of mixed cassette tapes, lying around somewhere.
I’m in Toronto and was fortunate enough to be able to pick up WBLK from Buffalo, which was a killer R&B, funk dance station. So I would tape lots of stuff from those broadcasts.

But these days when Internet radio arose, that was mind blowing. Then countless radio stations arose where you could find any type of music you could possibly want down to the most hilariously specific descriptions.
Like Internet radio stations dedicated solely to instrumental music on analogue synthesizer.

Anyway, currently, I am using the TuneIn radio app. Are you familiar with the Génération Soul Disco Funk station from France? Absolutely killer for big production dance/funk from late 70s to late 80s! I can’t believe how much stuff I hear in that station that I had never heard before.
They changed the name to RadioGoodlife. Under that name there’s different stations playing different types of music. But I believe this is a browser link to the proper station:

I’ve always found The Ocean to be a really funky track from Led Zeppelin. In fact when I made mixed dance tapes for parties. I would slip that one in between the rest of the funk, and people would keep dancing right on through.

When “Boogie Motion” came on, I remember the whole floor going ballistic. The entire Beautiful Bend LP was like one continuous mix both sides flowing together as one long groove. Played through huge 70s Altec Lansing horn speakers with massive bass cabinets.
