Definitely uncorked a good bottle with this thread! Watch out! I can contribute some to the good posts already, I will try to restrain myself:
I'll start with an ultra-rare example of Country Western Funk (it completely slaps though):
Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant - Boogie Man:
Ike Turner - Getting Nasty: (lo-fi as it gets, lives up to the name all around)
Scary Pockets - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (a more explicitly funk-coded cover of an already funky song, since we apparently like this tune)
Earth, Wind and Fire - In the Stone - (this thread could have a whole lot of EWF in it, but this is song is too overlooked, I think)
Lakeside - Fantastic Voyage (Really, we're on page 3 and nobody posted this yet???)
Brick - Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody (I keep coming back to this one lately)
Change - Hold Tight (technically italo disco, but if you listen closely you'll notice the sample shows up in what seems like half of all funky house songs from 1995-2005)
Zapp & Roger - More bounce to the ounce (FUNKIEST SONG OF ALL TIME?
)
Zapp & Roger - So Ruff, So Tuff (I view it as a companion piece to the above)
Vulfpeck - It Gets Funkier II (among bands working today, they are among the funkier)
https://youtu.be/C430AWTvMPs?si=X3NuuFRHrA16Gdwh
Fatback Band - Backstrokin' (back to the classics - could post several of their tracks here)
https://youtu.be/dIOTV_ZtIwg?si=PNEB-i7UbZOiHC7c
George Clinton - Atomic Dog (someone had to post it)
https://youtu.be/IyAEUWJlk1Q?si=qMuQJoDilfPscwTg
Prince - Erotic City (not like there aren't a lot of Prince songs we could share, but I like this one for pure funkiness)
https://youtu.be/KY4gnToCXa4?si=7gPlX5l7G-599g6E
Tom Browne - Thighs High (Grip Your Hips & Move) (it was between this and Funkin' for Jamaica)
https://youtu.be/RvlB8OEMBJc?si=acrUs9xXSGZGeIua
Con Funk Shun - Shake and Dance WIth Me (I just really like the bassline for some reason.)
https://youtu.be/xh6P1QTffe4?si=Yu3uq7AyZFflebJT
Jamiroquai - little L (nothing obscure about this one, but it's a bop)
https://youtu.be/1hHSH9sJUEo?si=k-RYNuK5FfK8M48h
The Bar-Kays - Holy Ghost (this one is an all-timer for the bassline, even though the mix is really bad.)
https://youtu.be/sJlAop6SyLI?si=gGDVcfoiguk8emAK
Ice Cube , George Clinton - Bop Gun (A fun way to listen to One Nation Under a Groove, plus if you listen closely he references a lot of songs in this thread)
https://youtu.be/DjsvqQUcqCs?si=JURr9_qUlcVrHpI1
Ohio Players - Love Rollercoaster (I thought I liked the Red Hot Chili Peppers, because they covered this for the Beavis and Butthead movie... turns out no, I like Ohio Players.)

OK, I'll stop, already a bit out of control here, I guess I hit the embed limit

Lettuce is a funk band that started in 1992. It got it's name when the original members told a venue "… just let us play."
The free app RELISTEN has lots of their live tour performances available on-line at no cost. Over the years with changing musicians and guest musicians as well as responding to USA musical trends their sets' sound sometimes altered.

Some pretty funky Japanese guys play a little tight for funk but still very good
