Oh man, I only really discovered Roy about five years ago, and I went down the rabbit hole. What a fabulous vibe and feel his records have. I picked up a bunch of vinyl.

Very nice track!
The title immediately reminded me of herbie mann’s Superman.
It’s more disco, but it certainly still counts as groovy:
I’m from Canada and my family took a trip to Miami when I was very young in the 70s when this song came out. It was in the hotel jukebox near the ping-pong, tables and pool tables and for some reason, I became totally addicted to this song and played it over and over. I always remember the string section which I really liked.
I didn’t really encounter it again until maybe 10 or 15 years ago and it’s just as fun as I remembered.

I really love that genre of jazzy bluesy funky stuff. When blue note started putting out their Blue Break Beats CDs in the 90s. I snapped a lot of of those up and still play them.
(I don’t know if people ever actually danced to that music or not?)

I have had this comp for quite a while. Classic Funk, and dirt cheap on eBay.
This thread is more discovery than nostalgia for me, not being around in the 70s. I had come across that album from War however. Cisco Kid was quite the hit single I understand. Apparently the album was released in stereo and quadrophonic, and the latter also on Blu-ray. My favourite track certainly is Four Cornered Room which is a meandering, moody masterpiece. That period was probably the band's peak, later incarnations look a bit patchy. However the 2023 release (iirc) 50th anniversary set includes an extended original jam of that track, which has many fine/fun moments:
The 1972 released LP version is tighter and more polished of course:
*the 'zoom zoom zoom' line apparently spawned a Mazda ad campaign, a bit before my time too.

That internet radio station usually play great tunes.
It depends a bit on which DJ is on at the time. Sometimes they might play jazz that’s a little too polished and sugary—almost like elevator music—but most of the time it’s good. Like right now, as I was writing this post, they were playing:
