Amazed that Ortofon could let something like this through, I have to say, especially at the price!

Nice pickup though with a properly aligned stylus :) The new Concorde Bronze should be similar with luck (will the OM30 stylus be replaced with it I wonder?)
I agree! Just for clarification, this is indeed a Concorde Music Bronze.

I sent an email to Ortofon with the photos yesterday and hope to hear back soon.

Yep, no luck with cleaning. This Denon copy was crap noise-wise. Centered both the Denon and my "rare" Tacet copy. Looks good weighted, but peak unweighted is bad on the Denon

I do not trust that script the plots do not seem realistic , I use Multitone

I just installed Windows on my Mac but have not installed and tried Multitone yet.

The Denon record is really horrible in noise so no wonder it looks bad in plots. It was sealed and looks just fine, no scratches:

Just listen to this (it is at 33 RPM):

Compare to the Tacet:

Tacet, is better yes, but the w&F script you used is far off- for the Denon-, disturbed by noise I guess,

The alignment on mine that I posted the measurements of in the library thread was poor too, along with the rest of its faults such as bad resonances.

I just picked up an Ortofon Music Bronze, out of curiosity.

It’s hard to understand how a cartridge in this price range could get through quality control like this.

With an extra 20 seconds of care, couldn't the cantilever have been rotated properly?

Being danish, this is embrassing to see. I don't know what the h... happened to that company. I don't think you would see this kind of quality coming out from Ortofon in 90ies when Erik Rohmann lead the company, during its most difficult times. Unfortunately he passed away, way too early. These days they make a lot of money, so no excuse there.

Nice and repeatable seems the Tacet one, not the Denon that repeats uneven in just two revolutions.
Good test records are rare and different pressings seem to vary as well. Not sure why it is so hard to make consistent good test records today. It was certainly possible in the past.

I don’t know what differs at the moment; I have to dig more in the weekend. Same file same software should give the same result Unless there is some settings that differ. Perhaps also @alvaro-oliver can chime in on the difference re noise. 2sigma of 0.3268 vs. 0.113 for the noisy Denon track seems too large. What is the general accepted method for 2-sigma? Virtins?
 
Every click shifts the zero crossing, and zero crossing is used to get the frequency I think. So clicks and noise will likely affect the result

Zero crossings for average seems ok but then W&F is affected by noise, ie not true speed varation. Perhaps my Denon is an exception due to the massive noise. If Virtins use this method there are no reliable numbers that can be compared except if they are filtered. What does the standard say about weighting with 2-sigma?
 
When it was my day job I used a B&K wow and flutter meter. The advantage of an analogue device was that minor perturbations could be "ignored" by eye to focus on the actual readings.

Of course, the modern FFT gives unprecedented insight into what might be an underlying issue (which would not have been visible with my meter).
