For sale is a pair of BLACK Genelec 8361a + GLM kit (module and microphone), in addition to the 9101b remote and 9310b volume control knob. These were originally put into service for living room duty on June 4th, 2025. I enjoy these immensely, but am selling them to free up some cash. They are in perfect condition. They also have the balance of the five-year transferrable warranty, so that’s roughly 4.25 years left.

I am selling them for $8200 (no trades, no hagglers). Local pickup or free delivery by me in the Sacramento, California region. I can ship and will cover 1/2 of shipping costs. I will ship for free if you are buying from CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA. They were received double boxed, and they will be shipped double boxed. Original boxes, as shown in the picture.

One caveat: I’m not sure exactly how to arrange for payment for a sale this large. Would forum members be so kind provide ideas that are safe for both buyer and seller, that doesn’t give a huge cut to a middle man? If local, obviously, cash would be fine. (I have PayPal and Zelle)

Here’s my USAudioMart Feedback. It’s limited, but it’s all positive feedback: https://www.usaudiomart.com/userfeedback.php?user_id=275810

I’ve also purchased items from ASR members, and maybe they’d be willing to chime in with their experience with me if they’d be so kind.

Please let me know if you have any questions, want to see more pictures, or need any additional info. Send me a DM, reply here, or we can talk over the phone.

Thank you

Just to sweeten the deal: I will cover 1/2 of the shipping costs.

I also prefer my philharmonic hts over 8361a for TV and background music. I don't think I could sell the genelecs though, they are too amazing near field.

I was comparing the two last night in this listening space, which happens to be the only (mostly) symmetrical room in my house. This is where I had my 8361a set up since I got them. Comparing that with the HTs crossed over with subs, I’m actually not sure which one I prefer here. They are both very different in how the data suggests they would be— basically a showdown between imaging/focus vs soundstage. I must say, the wide sound stage from the BMR+AMT is quite nice. Nothing beats the resolution of the 8361a though.

One thing did became clear to me last night— those HTs with their wide dispersion, must be used in a symmetric room or at least one with adequate distance to sidewalls. I pulled them from the other living room with a glass sliding door four inches to the left of the left speaker. Not even Dirac ART could make them sound nearly as good as they do in this room with just basic Dirac Live… they’ve never sounded this good, so I guess this is where they are staying.

I’ll have to give the 8361a a serious try near field, though I don’t have a room left for it to be set up that way permanently.

They present the material so differently. I prefer 5.1 channel TV, acoustic music and background listening with the Philharmonic Audio. They are also gorgeous. For the pop/rock I listen to, the Genelec's nearfield are unapologetically and satisfyingly revealing.

My findings in this thread where I compared the two are very similar.

I wish more people could compare the BMR in a big room with Genelecs nearfield. And compare acoustic recordings with modern pop/rock. They are both great in their own very distinct way.

Someone lucky is going to get an amazing speaker at a good price.

Still for sale. Price drop to $8200 and will ship for free to the following states: CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA.

Also throwing in the 9101b remote.
