Damn -- recently bought a DAC2 HGC for about the same money. I think I would have gone for the RME given the choice.

RME's product names confuse me a little, but, yes, I believe that that it's the "Pro" version that offers the AD stage.

And you heard no discernible difference when listening to the DA playback? I can't remember if they use multiple chips in parallel for playback and that might improve the performance

I haven't heard the Pro version yet, actually. I assumed that the DAC stages were the same. I'll have to double check.
