Location: Berlin, Germany
Shipping: Anywhere within the EU/Europe. Palletized and fully insured. I cover shipping costs up to €200; anything above that is on the buyer. Local pickup and a relaxed audition in Berlin are very welcome.
Price: €8,990 (reasonable offers entertained). New retail is ~€16,000/pair.
Up for sale is a pair of KEF Reference 3 Meta in Satin Walnut with silver-grey front plate and champagne Uni-Q — the most living-room-friendly finish in the Reference line IMO. From a non-smoking household, in use since summer 2024, in essentially as-new condition with all original packaging and accessories.
The interesting part — full transparency:
On arrival, both cabinets showed a minor anomaly (couldn't be conclusively traced to transport vs. a factory issue). KEF took both speakers into their own service facility in the Netherlands (Sound United) under goodwill and fully refurbished them: individual drivers were replaced. All work is documented by KEF and I'm happy to share the paperwork.
Condition:
Optically excellent. One tiny, fingernail-sized mark on the upper-right veneer edge, only visible under close inspection (<50 cm, good light). No other wear — no scratches, no dents. Technically flawless.
Measurements:
I ran my own measurements after the service: both speakers are distortion-free and operate within KEF's published spec. Happy to share my plots alongside KEF's service documentation.
Included (complete):
Nothing missing — you unbox them like new.
Why I'm selling:
Downsizing to a more compact setup. At 51.3 kg each these are superb but bigger than my current space wants. That's the only reason.
Specs (for reference):
3-way bass reflex · 12th-gen Uni-Q with MAT · 2 × 165 mm aluminium bass · 86 dB sensitivity · 4 Ω (min. 3.2 Ω) · 50–300 W. Insanely good reviews and measurements, probably SOTA class for passive speakers.
