FOSI ZD3 With Bose revolve+ II

helo,

i am trying to connect my 2 bose revolves+II to my samsung tv. tv has only optical and hdmi arc. for audio output. i need to control the tv remote to control the volume. so hdmi arc it is.



first i looked at SMSL ps100 but then i saw fosi zd3 review. and decided to go with the fosi.

now i am at the crossroad what would be the best cable to chose to connect the fosi with my bose revolve+ soundlink II.

- XLR to 3.5 jack?
- i see XLR to USB? bose has a micro usb digital lossless i have no idea if this is even an option
- RCA to 3.5jack
- 3.5 stereo jack to 2x mono 3.5 jacks

any ideas suggestions are welcome.

XLR to 3.5 jack?

Do not do Bal->Single ended if it can be avoided.

There are always issues with shorted outputs, increased distortion, DC offsets etc.

It can be done well with active converters, but that's more money and an additional box just to restore fidelity to levels of the DAC's native RCA out.

The Bose is a USB Slave device, meaning it can only receive USB audio from a USB Host, in other words a computer.

It cannot receive audio from a USB adapter cable.

The best way to connect the Bose is using an RCA to 3.5mm Aux cable.
