NAD likes class AB so much these days, they pretty much completely switched to Hypex. Do they still make AB amps?Yamaha and Nad is all time classics.
It’s hard to say right off the bat. But I like Rotel’s entry-level and mid-range lines. The brand seems to have a pretty good reputation.Do you have any value oriented class A/B recommendations? Maybe sub 1k€?
Haven't seen any new AB ones from them, you're right about it.Do they still make AB amps?
I’ve seen a used Rotel rb 1582 mk2 used for 800€.. would that be a better choice reliability wise than an audiophonics based class D hypex amp? It’s hard to say right off the bat. But I like Rotel’s entry-level and mid-range lines. The brand seems to have a pretty good reputation.
I don't think you'll have any reliability issues with these amplifiers. Just choose the one that suits you best in terms of looks and dimensions.I’ve seen a used Rotel rb 1582 mk2 used for 800€.. would that be a better choice reliability wise than an audiophonics based class D hypex amp?
My intuition says I’ll beat the odds regardlessI don't think you'll have any reliability issues with these amplifiers. Just choose the one that suits you best in terms of looks and dimensions.

If you are buying a whole system it's fine they are desktop sized. But I'm not likely to add something half sized in my existing gear that's in my living room and I'll be staring at it all the time.As electronics have become better I don't see any need for full size stereo pieces. Why would a 2 channel class D need to full size enclosure for?
But it's a bit odd that companies like Fosi doesn't try to find a similar design "language" for all products, and that includes also size.
V4 and V5 are vastly different from previous releases. That makes no sense. The orange nose is missing as well.
Personally, I don't like to match full size with half size and black with silver. My AV rack is all silver equipment in full size. There is visual satisfaction with my equipment even when I am not listening. If you are buying a whole system it's fine they are desktop sized. Schiit Vidar maybe. Not sure how much more it is in Europe.Do you have any value oriented class A/B recommendations? Maybe sub 1k€?

Wow thats an insane price! Do they ship internationally?
So, I learned it's so beautiful and they both have Hypex inside and it's beautiful design and the power button feels nice and sounds nice and is sturdy, and the power supply is inside and that's groundbreaking, oh and it's so beautiful.Latest Video from the designer explaining the hardware and power supply related details.
P.S.
He says that these were designed with Hypex, and he wanted more clarify in the model v5.
Some highlights like Power Supply is mounted below the amplifier module, don't know if its for both V4 & V5 or just V5.
Now buyers will have to pay for his expert services to Fosi. So, I learned it's so beautiful and they both have Hypex inside and it's beautiful design and the power button feels nice and sounds nice and is sturdy, and the power supply is inside and that's groundbreaking, oh and it's so beautiful.
Not sure Fosi did themselves a favour hiring this guy.
