I can't picture these anywhere but on the gaming desk.
But Fosi has been playing with color and imo tries to establish it's own style(s). If their customers like it.. why not.

It looks unattractive. That goes for most implementations based on Hypex or Purifi modules, with the exception of high-end brands like NAD and TEAC. Why doesn't anyone want to build a good-looking integrated amplifier using these modules, for instance?

LOL, I can relate. While I did know those 2, it drives me nuts when people post acronyms and/or abbreviations and I have to Google it to find out what it means. When someone makes a post with hundreds of words and throws a couple in, I'm thinking would it have hurt to type a few more letters rather than use acronyms?

Very pricey, not sure what sets this apart from the existing Hypex from the usual suspects.

Their amplifiers don't exactly shine in terms of design, either. They are drab, utilitarian boxes you’d want to hide in a closet and never see again.

I think they are nearly the opposite of drab, in a bad way. They're pretty disgusting, I was excited to hear news of Fosi x Hypex but could never buy these butt-ugly boxes.

I also don't understand why Fosi didn't create a version of the Hypex-based unit with a more classic Hi-Fi design. I hope they come out with something like that later on.
As for this one, I gather they wanted to showcase their high-tech, forward-looking nature with this elaborate design.

All of these desktop amps and brands like Fosi, they started with targeting headphone users, who are typically younger. So it may be to the taste of these youngers crowd. It reminds me of a PC gamers design, something like a Asus ROG.
Time will tell but I believe Fosi may have overpriced these units since they'll be competing with some very tough competitors.
I love the performance and value of my dual V3s but do plan on swapping them out for something different in the near future, primarily because of long term reliability concerns. And I'm in the camp that feels these new amps are ugly as sin, so it's pretty unlikely I will consider these personally.

It sounds like you want to replace the V3s in the short term because they may break in the longer term? Just making sure I understand, I'm curious about that mindset. If I'm happy with a product, I usually wait to see if something breaks.
The main reason why I'm looking to replace them and relegate them to backup duty or use elsewhere is because I don't want to risk them failing and damaging my $1600 speakers at the same time. If I had $300 speakers I wouldn't be too concerned.
Are there many reports of V3's failing in a way that destroys speakers that I have missed? (And I don't mean if a user accidentally turns max input signal on).
How common is it that a given amp of any brand fails and damages speakers, and which amps can be guaranteed to never do this?
I'm looking forward to reading the anecdotal horror stories.

Am willing to bet that they did not do a demo compared to other amps with rapid level matched switching.
Everything reads like shilling and product placement (advertorial).
Agreed... Looks fine to me but obviously not to others.
I haven't heard any with the V3 to be honest. But I like having peace of mind and I just don't have it with them. It's awesome that we have all the inexpensive and excellent measuring devices from the likes of Topping/SMSL/Fosi and others these days, but at the same time I've seen more than enough reports of failure on several devices made by these companies to have much faith in them lasting as long as I'd like. That makes me less willing to fork out the prices these new models are listed at.
There are reasons why these type of units are as inexpensive as they are and in my opinion not spending more time engineering them to be more reliable is one of the biggest. These companies appear to be in a race to outdo each other with the amount of new products they introduce and of course the SINAD race.
