Fosi Multichannel DAC coming!

You mean something like the Okto Research DAC8?
Sure, but that it doesn't cost 1300 euros + taxes and shipping and be out of stock half of the time. Something more on the line of the now discontinued Topping DM7. Both Topping and Fosi have shown us they can make virtually transparent gear for much less money than the competition. Although now with Trump's war in Iran who knows what'll happen with prices worldwide.

Are you aware that some DM7s have failed?
There are several reports here in the forum, on other platforms as well, and in my circle of acquaintances, two out of three have failed. Luckily, they were purchased from Amazon and are still under warranty. Replacement or repair wasn't possible, even though I requested it.
There are reasons why I wouldn't buy a top-of-the-line device over €300 right now.

For the performance and quality it offers, the Okto Research DAC8 is practically a steal, especially when you consider support, firmware updates, and repair options.
I've handled both devices multiple times, and for me, their development (including reliability and long-term testing) and quality are on a similar level to Violectric/Lake People and RME. There's hardly any, if any, talk of defective units from those brands.

Have you ever wondered why these devices are constantly out of stock? For one thing, demand still seems to be very high, which speaks well of both the device and the company.
But most importantly, they don't increase production at the expense of quality and reliability.
And what would be more important?

You know the saying, "Buy cheap, buy twice"?

I'm amazed that there are still almost no reasonably priced alternatives to miniDSP for 2x4 digital crossovers and 4x4 multichannel DACs.

Since many here might be losing sight of this...

The Fosi Q8 has absolutely nothing to do with a multi-channel DAC.
The Q8 is a stereo switching center with a DAC/preamplifier, multiple analog inputs, and a maximum of one 2.1 output.
So far, we've only been talking about an AK4493S stereo DAC chip.

The name is really poorly chosen.
Therefore, the discussion about multi-channel or 8-channel DACs is completely off-topic.

I have a failed Topping DM7 replaced by Okto Dac 8 pro. If someone wants to repair it I can sell it for a 100 euro. Okto is a very good unit but has issues of its own.
