Okay, I believe in science and engineering, as I do. So I ordered the E1DA 9039S dongle to compare the performance.
Let's let the fun begin!
We already have Archimago's review of the E1DA 9039S. As its specs and his measurements tell, it is the king of all usb dongles. In fact, it beats any device (including desktop devices) when it comes to sub-3.5 Vrms outputs under headphone loads.

Somewhere Ivan mentioned that at least one channel of all 9039S samples he tested showed ALL harmonic products lower than -150 dB! He is right. Here's a sneak peek of mine:

Do any of these portable DCs have EQ options? If so, could someone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

DCs? You mean DACs? Or more exactly portable USB-C DAC/Amps?
If it’s what you mean, yes there are many options at various price points. Just do a few search…

Check out the Qudelix 5k at £100 or Fiio K15 etc dongles which start at £70

In fact, it is very simple. Do you want to take HD660s out, then consider DS1. If you don't want, DS2 is enough to drive almost all earbuds and in-ear headphones.

When you purchase this DAC head over to my thread about external power supply it woke up my HD 600 headphones when using my Cellphone !!!!!

Samsung A52 USB Audio Player Pro app for Android bypass then splitter with external power to dac, Aux to Headphones...

Amir, when could you review more portable BLUETOOTH headphone dac/amplifiers?
They are the one devices you have reviewed the least and for me who wants to have a good portable headphone experience without having to use crappy and good as well usb cables that just constantly disconnect and is only in the way all the time.
A BT amp is the best way to remedy that issue which I and i'm pretty sure others really hate with using portable usb adapters.
With TWS that are getting extremely good nowadays with very good lossless codecs and with the portable dacs being very cheap and affordable, we should know which one we could buy.
I currently own a FIIO BT15 one and it is very good, atleast with usb connected with the BT sound falling behind a little bit, it's a very good bang for your buck, but i need to know which one of the bt amps that are the best.

Since you have been reviewing a bunch of IEMs lately i think it's a perfect match to review some of these kinda dacs to go with them too, right?
Or am i missing the mark completely and no one wants these kinda devices?

When forum participants send their own dongle dac/amps in for testing, unless you are are willing to furnish Amir with a suitable bank balance to buy and test the myriad of new devices that come to market on an almost weekly basis.

FWIW :I’d like to see more testing of such as well, if I stayed in the U.S. (I’d get deported for a start) I’d be sending my iem’s/dongles in for testing as they’re easy to package and are light enough to post.

You could always reach out to the brands you're interested in and ask them to send a test unit to Amirm...tell them it would boots sales !!

is the DS2 better or equivalent to the SMSL PS200?
(Not sure why this is in the DS1 thread)

You can compare the DS2 and PS200 here:

There's no difference in noise or distortion.
3.5mm to 2x RCA does not affect audio quality.

However, if you encounter ground loop induced interference noise, then it's easier to remove with the PS200 thanks to its Toslink input.

To get the same effect with the DS2, you'd have to purchase a $50-70 USB isolator.

Okay thanks friend,
Is toslink better /worse than USB?
(I posted in this thread cause I was interested in the DS1 but realised the DS2 is a better product (lower noise /distortion etc) and is less expensive. Sorry.
I realise I would still have to power the PS200 via USB even if I used optical.

Just to be clear:

The higher sample rates and bit depths enabled by USB's larger bandwidth serve zero purpose for audio consumption. None whatsoever.

It's easy to conclude that higher must be better but in reality, 48kHz is the highest sample rate that human ears can take advantage of.

In consumer audio, anything higher only serves as marketing gimmick to upsell customers.

so there is no point in 32 bit?
USB (44.1-768Khz(32bit)
optical 44.1-192Khz (24bit)
or do i need to read moar?
sorry for these question that are probably in the wrong thread, i did delete my original question.
oh no - double sorry, yoou already answered when i was reformatting my question. I really do appreciate it
