Fosi BT20a Max

Because this

isn't it, but indeed this:

...on the part of the listener who knows nothing about audiopsychology but is convinced his crude fleshy sensors called ears, delivering a signal processed by the highly capable reality simulator and illusion generator called brain is somehow superior to technical equipment specifically designed (and managing) to beat human hearing by half a dozen orders of magnitude.
...your machines are programmed by human with ears....cultivating what they want to hear in the first place! If then they become subservient to the machine thereafter then they become slaves of their own invention. All reviews are based on what people want to hear and thus stuff is manufactured accordingly.....are you ok...do you need help?

You have the questionable honour of becoming the first on my ignore list. Have a nice life.

Perhaps we should run a script on this forum so when two people express their opposing opinions towards each other on this subject they are placed on each other's ignore list automatically, because the debate is annoying and tiresome. Live and let live.

I draw the line when people get needlessly personal. That's not how I want to exchange opinions.

I'm not questioning that you have reasons for your actions, as does everyone else. It's still tiresome to see the same debate tainting otherwise interesting threads such as this one over and over again.

i am thinking to replace my naim nait xs3 with this. Do you think it will be better?

There's more power but also an audible fan.
I'd rather get E3 audio A7 and a DAC with PEQ.

The A7 doesn't seem to be worth the extra cost over the A5, or am I missing something?
Maybe not, but I consider it also more future proof if future speakers are more "hungry"
A7SE should suffice too obviously

Headphones on

Well, that tells us nothing...
Maybe not, but sometimes differences can be heard with headphones, just don't use your speakers
and which DAC with PEQ do you recommend? (for use with PC)
In case no headphones are used: Topping E50 II, it has an above average voltage output if needed. The phone app also works with this DAC already.

If headphones are wanted: DX5 II

I was going to say, what the heck did I just watch?

Here's one for comparison :) And, I'll be the first to admit, video quality/color is off, the guy seems too uptight or nervous, IDK, it's like his first in-person review video? Would have like to hear more pros/cons and personal thought?

What offends my human ears the most is hum, buzz, crossover distortion and fan noise. Not necessarily in that order.

If this amplifier has a fan, it off my list. It does not matter how well the electronics measure if the amplifier has a fan.

I am disappointed to read the news.

Just for fun, the dominate noise frequency of of a fan is the number of fan blades X fan RPM / 60 seconds / minute. Fan noise lands right in the center of the human ear sensitivity. Gold plated tin ears or not.

The fan can be unplugged. That being said I did and A/B between the Max and a BT30D Pro (same TPA 3255 chip and can't tell the difference. I'm sure SINAD and equipment measurements could tell the difference though.

Anyone have the Max now and own a Google Pixel 10 or 10 Pro? If so can you unplug your speakers, turn on the Max, on any input turn up/down the volume with the remote to 12 o-clock/noon position, then shot video and/or camera using the rear facing lenses close to the front of the Max and report back what happens?

Thank you.

I have my sample unit now from Fosi, plan to a full write up tomorrow. I was worried about the fan issue, but it is very, very quiet. I can’t hear it at all even when no music is playing. I have many positive things to say about this new amp.

Unplug the fan and reduce the output by half the watts or more or let the fan run and reduce the SINAD by 30dB's.

I recall that I paid extra for video and audio cards with large heatsinks pluss installed large thermal speed controlled quiet fans in my computer only to give the benefit away with a cheep $10 fan in that amplifier.

No Thanks

No way this fan reduces sinad anything like 30dB. It’s very very quiet.
