All sold out on Fosi’s site? That went quick.

Thank you for correcting me below.

i'm kind of ok with this being sold out - it means i dont need to buy another piece of equipment i dont need

but at the same time i think Fosi knew that they had fewer items in stock than they needed to suit demand

ALSO 11/11 is around the corner so there's always some sale going on

its the only maxim dont wait up for women... there's another one waiting in the wings

Just ordered mine, shipping scheduled for October 12th. USD 144 with the ANNZD3 coupon. Not sure how to tell/know if I was one of the lucky first 20.

Just ordered mine to, same price - and took advantage of the 20% discount to order a second ZA3 Amp to go with the one I already have so I can run them in mono, $120 for the ZA3 with 48v 5A power supply instead of $150. Says on the order "pre-order bonus first 300 customers" so I am guessing I'll get the extra gold anniversary knob, 3x OP amps etc, no mention of being in the first 20 though so doubtful whether I'll qualify for the Vol knob.

The price for me (in the EU) on the Fosi website is $220. After 20% discount it works out at roughly € 162. Price on Audiophonics is € 170 where there is no discount. No much discount or difference then.

This is all hypothetical. I have a ZA3 and I like the look of the ZD3 but I dont’t have a need for it at the mo.

Edit: you do get the opamps when buying from Fosi, for what it’s worth. And a magnet. And a knob.

Man those XLR outs are tempting to me but getting an wiim ultra would also replace my wiim mini...

Yeh actually audiophonics had them listed for 139 yesterday, so you can only guess which sort of margin these products have.

Selling them for 180 as super ultra cheap pre order discount in EU is not good enough for me, especially without any measurements.

probably less interest than i thought

still 300 orders hasnt gone over yet

whats this device for if you're just going to pass out sp/dif???

Isn't it funny? I've read the exact opposite numerous times: some people find USB-C kinda weird on stationary devices. The usual argument is that USB-B is more mechanically stable, with higher longevity.

Nominally, that's true, but personally I couldn't care less. What's good enough for years of daily unplugging and plugging on mobile devices, literally withstanding thousands of plug cycles without an issue, is good enough for a device that's just sitting there all year untouched. Both types have cables being readily available for cheap

But as said, some people "complained" about C. I guess that's why Fosi put a B socket.
Nowadays, the USB-C can be used for a long time, I dont think the longevity for USB-C is a problem, but I really think the USB-B is more stable than USB-C.

i sort of feel like that is anecdotal

ie. with 99% of new dacs being type-c of course everyone is going to blame type-c for connnection issues

this type-b printer cable thing has been around 25yrs plus and so with that, it should be very very stable being a simple 4 line connector

type-c has lots of lines inside?

this is a non issue for me since they give you one cable in the box and i have heaps of these at home anyway
