Lucky you, I had to send 4 back. invest in hypex or purifi class d or get a flagship yamaha class ab because this is a joke amp from fosi

Fosi Audio V3 Mono Amplifier Review

I'm confused, in discussing alternatives, why not just use 3e A7 Mono?
No other TPA3255 based amp puts out more power - if maximising that's what your use case requires, feed it 51V at 8+ amperes.
Or the A5 if not, and you want (inaudibly) better SINAD / SNR specs.
The price difference per channel is at "one meal out" levels.

I have bought recently hypex 500x and Purifi 400 stereo amps. Yes ! Fosi: they sound great, but will they endure functioning?????

My take on this discussion, and others like it, is that most of the feedback we are hearing is from those with issues - with no idea what fraction of total sales these anecdotes represent. I have had a pair of the very first batch and have no complaints at all. Given the low level of investment for the purchaser I really don't understand the nit picking and agonising...247 pages of it so far. I think they are amazing for what they are and enable the making of a system that is much better and more affordable than anything available in my youth (long ago).

You have been lucky, l had to send 3 back. My take is that l could have possibly been very annoyed. 247 pages are not enough. My take is : yes with proper forced ventilation they are very good, my take is will they perform in the future?

I totally get the "fraction of total sales" argument, but sending units back to back for repair or replacement only to receive faulty ones back is annoying, especially since the return process takes so long. At least they gave me a full refund in the end

I, for one, appreciate this discussion. Hopefully it will force Foci to look into the problems and release a revised, reliable product. I almost bought 2 of these for my home office, and after reading about the failures in this thread, opted for a Topping Mini 300 instead, which runs cool and reliable so far. I love the idea of the V3 mono and would still consider a pair in the future if they can work out the problems.

I will wait for a redesigned and improved version of Fosi V3 Mono. Hopefully, it will come out soon. I know they are working on the V4 and V5 Mono amps but those are high-end expensive amps which are not my cup of tea.

Yes. But regarding reliability, I think Fosi sales are bigger than Hypex, by far... so, higher failure units also.

As another data point, I have a pair of the v3 monos with separate power supplies and usb fans used for sub duty. I use them in a dedicated listening room, so they are completely shutdown (including the power supplies) when I am not using them. I have had no issues at all coming up to a year of use so I am very please with them.

I had the Fosi v3 monos because my Hegel h390 was getting cleaned from dust. And i still dont regret buying them for that case as they was that cheap.
Can you hear any difference between Hegel and Fosi?
I have not a/b campared them side by side but the Hegel is without doubts better as it should be.
the Fosi struggled a bit at higher volumes to me the speakers sounded strained and lost control.
Hegel plays a lot louder i think the speakers i use is to good for the Fosi amplifiers and you need something a lot more powerful
And something i like about Hegel is that you have everything in one box.
With Fosi you need so many boxes and there will be a lot of power cables laying around and it will causing a mess in my medium sized room.
I dont think its fair to something like Arendal 1528 monitor 8 and pair them with an inexpensive amp that will not take advantage of what those speakers can deliver specially at higher volumes.
But if i was on a budget i would no doubt put most of my money on the speakers, and those Fosi amps could be good starting point.
But with the Hegel and Arendal combo it truly feels endgame for me.
Still have the Fosi v3 monos and will save them in case i need them in the future.
