My pair arrived yesterday, initial thoughts - Fosi Audio products have blown me away, these are powering a pair of Dynaudio Special 40's, and making them sing like the Chord amp I loaned from a friend, when I say there's no difference that I can tell, apart from the price. These monos' are going to make a lot of supposedly big name and big price manufactures take notice.

I'm letting them run-in for a few days then I'll be back to update.

Thank You Fosi for actually making them, and thank you ASR for being part of the process!

Hi, how is the sound compared to BT20A Pro please ?
Thanks
Very good first impressions, especially the soundstage, it seems to be wider, so my listening sweet spot (2,5m) is now more flexible and I can move around without loosing information; also, I feel that I don't need to over 55-60 dbs to get all the details in the music.
The first image that came to my mind was the feeling you have when you first drive your car after a tune-up (engine, new tyres and shock absorbers) ;)

I just received this message from Fosi Audio via Kickstarter:

Thank you for your continued support of our project. Due to some delays, our power filters will not be available for shipping until after the 15th July. We would like to know if you prefer we ship your other items now, or wait and send everything together once the filters are ready. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to fulfill your order.

Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

Fosi Audio Team

I ordered two 48V/10A power supplies and replied to let them know to send my other items now rather than later.

Very nice Dynaudio speakers with 86 dB sensitivity and 6 ohm nominal impedance. The Fosi V3 Mono amps should have ideal amplification characteristics to properly drive these to room-filling volumes. Looks like you received the little brown box that Fosi Audio normally ships op amps in. Did you opt to get the MUSES02 op amps or other types?

Hi, well spotted! - I received the 2 MUSES02 but I'm not sure what to do with them as yet, I have read up on them and they seem an interesting option, way too early for me to start playing around with the sound stage! And thanks, they are stunning speakers, and as you've mentioned they do need the power these little amps provide. Heat is relative - I once used a Baird valve amp that I switched on in the morning as I left for work, it was warmed up by the time I got home! The heat the V3 mono produce isn't even mildly concerning.

I received the same email.
What does Fosi mean by "Power Filters"?

Does this mean that the power supplies can only be shipped after 15 July?

Fosi added power filters to the 10A option to allay any fears over choosing this option. It means that delays to the supply of the power filters is holding up the entire order.

So you can ask them to send the rest of the order e.g.: 10A + 2 monos now.

I replied yes please, but to confirm that this meant they would still send me the power filter later.

One configuration for the monos was to have a single 10A supply and splitter cable to power both amps (this is the setup I ordered). Fosi found that driving two amps from one supply did cause some interference and produced an inline power filter to prevent this, which was stated as being included free with orders that required it.

I'm a bit surprised that Fosi include power filter(s) if you order two 10A supplies though. Very generous of them.

Got the same email. Ugh. Should have bought 5a psu’s. Replied back, told them to ship and told them if it helped ship faster to change to 2x 5a. So, I guess I’m looking at another 2+ weeks to the states? Was backer 5.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the thermal interface? Was thinking about trying out some PTM7950 with these.

Maybe, maybe not. I’m backer #7 and my order was 2x5A supplies but not a word as yet.

For what it's worth, I have to say my units run warm to the touch. Not hot, but pretty warm. The heat is evenly distributed on all sides of the case, so I think it's doing a pretty good job to dispersing heat from the internal electronics.

They sound really good, too.

I ordered 2 monos with 2 10A power supplies. They won't ship until at least July 15...

How did you receive that update? Did you have to message them on Kickstarter?
