I've read a few comments saying that the V3 with larger power supply sounds better even at low volumes. This seems unlikely. Is there any benefit other than greater volume of the larger power supply?
I ordered last night with the 48V PSU on the Fosi site. A shame that it ships from China. Lets see if this will take one week or one month. I would have preferred to order on Amazon but didn’t need the price or waste of two power bricks.
I just ordered one from Amazon, preferred the 48 v brick but Amazon has good return policy, and for desktop use I am sure the 32 v one will do. It will replace my 50 w NAD C326BEE. Will know how well it works compared to the NAD amp as early as tomorrow.
First i tried with 48V PSU and amp is clearly overheating!! About 50-60 degrees around whole enclosure. Could be something wrong with PSU (looks like original, but without Fosi inscription)? Then i hooked 32V and temperature dropped almost on ambient temperature around 25 degrees, but sound degraded- much of low listening volume bass was gone, amp lost grip. Boxes are Wharfedale Denton 80, 6 ohm, 86db eff.
So for 100 EUR good amp without sterile class d sound but overheating is clearly issue here. I had similar class d amp Nuforce Icon which is much better sounding and also stone cold in operation.
I've never had any issue with overheating on the V3 with the 48V. Does it get a little warm? Sure. Just like pretty much all of my amps. But I can rest my hand on it and it never gets to the point of having to remove it. Something else must be going on with yours.
This compact yet powerful amplifier delivers a maximum power output of 600W into two channels, ensuring a captivating and high-fidelity sound experience.

I am sure you are right, that it is unlikely to be true, but just people who do sighted comparisons usually heard the more expensive stuff being compared "sounds better".
If you have 4 ohm speakers and need more than 60 w, the 48 v ps for better sound quality when you push it to near the limit during the peaks. Or if you have 8 ohm speakers and you need more than 30 w.
I only need about 10 w or less 8 ohms or 20 w 4 ohms, so I am okay with the 32 v ps, but I do prefer the 48 v one, slightly.
