If you search the amplifier review forum for the A04 you might find something there..Me too!
Are there any trustworthy power measurements available for the original 04 amp?
Yes, that second board is nice. I am not sure what they are using in the A04 Pro but in their new balanced amp D325X they have the JRCNE5532 op amps and after a couple of hours they sounded really good. At first they sound harsh but they have settled a bit and they are growing on me. Slightly better soundstage than the Muses 8920 which I am also testing in the same amp.I have one Aiyima 04 Black board, with manufacturer upgrades for sale at eBay...too many amps...the 04 was made and tuned for NE5532 opamp, I tried several opamp and nothing sounds better.
Aiyima 04 was built with 2 board, one was blue (cheap) and one black board with upgrade water filter with two 3000uf filters up to 6000uf; use red ring inductor, LC filter network with S-iemens capacitor, E-LNA red robe audio capacitor, T-K Audio series coupling capacitor.
According to their blurb on Amazon, the Pro is using the NE5532 op amp. They also indicate that "can be upgraded to a dual op amp like OPA2604".Yes, that second board is nice. The JRCNE5532 is a decent op amp. The 2604 is bolder in its delivery. Both are good.According to their blurb on Amazon, the Pro is using the NE5532 op amp. They also indicate that "can be upgraded to a dual op amp like OPA2604".
They also add this little disclaimer:The JRCNE5532 is a decent op amp. The 2604 is bolder in its delivery. Both are good.
To my ears its like this, the Muses 8920d compared to the JRC5532 in the new Aiyima D325X and possibly the V3 and A04 sounds like they need to unite for the better op amp. The 8920 has a killer low end delivery while the JRC5532 has the better upper frequencies, loads of air around the upper mids and treble giving that more open sound but is just a little light in the bass compared. So those two combined into one op amp would be excellent…an JURC8932d maybe….They also add this little disclaimer:
"* Note: The OP amp on this unit is upgradeable to a higher quality OP amp but only by a certified electronics technician. We do not advise customers to open the case and make any upgrades or changes as it may cause permanent damage to the electronics and may pose a safety risk. Thanks!"
Of course if you one using speakers that already have a more bass forward presentation, perhaps the 5532 will balance them out.To my ears its like this, the Muses 8920d compared to the JRC5532 in the new Aiyima D325X and possibly the V3 and A04 sounds like they need to unite for the better op amp. That’s questionable as you will still only get what the source is giving you.Of course if you one using speakers that already have a more bass forward presentation, perhaps the 5532 will balance them out.
The Muses 8820d are quite a nicely balanced compromise between the JRC5532 and Muses 8920d. They have a little more air and soundstage than their Fet brother the 8920 but dont quite dig as deep where the bass is concerned but a little deeper than the JRCNE55232. It’s a good choice for the A04 and the V3.Of course if you one using speakers that already have a more bass forward presentation, perhaps the 5532 will balance them out.
If you’re referring to the V3, there is no pop on mine when turning off/on. The TB10D does, but only if I don’t turn the gain pot all the way down before power off/on. No issues on either my Ayima A04(upgraded) or SMSL A300.Any amp with no pop sound when turning it on off for the same price and with the same power ?

I do get a very faint power on "tick" with the Fosi V3; and a power off "tick" from the A04 amp. Very low level, barely noticeable. Not enough to damage speakers.Any amp with no pop sound when turning it on off for the same price and with the same power ?
