Fosi Audio SK02 DAC & HP Amp Review

If I start my PC, the SK02 is on power via USB C, too. So I am searching a switch to interrupt the electricity. The USB switch on the market only interrupt power on/off but they have no functionality to bypass the data.

Any help on the horizon?

Are you saying the SK02 powers on when the usbc cable is active (PC on)?

The main volume knob is supposed to turn the unit on or off, but interesting that power via usbc also turns the unit on. I don’t own one, but the Fosi ZH3 turns on when connected to power, whether or not the volume knob is pushed on, so it sounds like the same situation…

One possible solution for you is to plug the Fosi DAC into a usb power strip that is always on, and use the volume wheel to turn the SK02 on and off. Then use a cheap SMSL/Douk DDC to send optical signal to the SK02. Newer XMOS usb bridge and separating power & audio can’t hurt

This SK line from Fosi has a bunch of potential imo. I only own the SK01, but it’s brought my HEDDphones to life in a way that no other amp has thanks to the (mid) tone controls and loudness function.

I hope Fosi will continue to develop this lineup as I eagerly await word of an SK03. If it can combine the features of SK01 (tone/loudness controls + analog inputs) with the functionality of the SK02 then I’d be sold in a minute.

solved: This solution with a switch works perfectly. It fits tightly behind the TFT which has an usb-hub.
