Fosi Audio S3….serious streamer?

Hi @yuting, I received the S3 today and I'm really enjoying it so far. My device still has firmware version 0.0.200.0x7146fe2 and does not find any new version. Any clues why that's the case? TIA :)
thanks,
Manual upgrade:
  1. Open Fosi Audio App
  2. Go to Settings → Firmware Version & Update → Internet Update
  3. Check and install the latest firmware
Auto upgrade:
  • If S3 is online and a new firmware is available, it will auto-update at midnight
  • No update without network connection
Note: Do not power off S3 or perform any operations during upgrade.

Thank you very much. I did the "manual upgrade" procedure about 30 times now, it always states "no new updates" (yes, I tried restarting the app and restarting the streamer). Network connection is obviously established or else it couldn't stream any content.

It's not unusual for software that might have lots of downloads to get offered at different times in different geographical areas.
You could try running up a VPN to various countries in turn to see if you can download the file that contains the update to your PC.

thanks ,The 10-band EQ has been developed and will be released via an OTA update upon completion of testing this month. Additionally, preset EQs will be added with status display functionality, scheduled for release next month.

Will the "OTA update" be relased globally at once or will it be a staged rollout (for example regional rollout)?

Even if globally released, local content servers and caches may not necessarily all be synchronised. I doubt it's like the old days where the downloadable stuff is coming off a web server owned by the issuer. This is not necessarily the same as a staged rollout, as vendors use that to minimise risk - if there is a fault in code, they don't want every country in the world to email/phone all local support teams at same time.

I have no idea what this particular vendor does when releasing new code, but when I was responsible for new code, we'd try to release with a little "breathing space", just in case!
