it'll be in line with the Wiim Plus _Ultra's "range" specifications...

This questions has been coming up all the time and it most likely going to stay 10 band graphic EQ.
I think I read somewhere that the current hardware doesn't provide PEQ and that's why it's not going to happen with any software update. However, I will be totally happy to know if this is incorrect and PEQ is on the cards with a software update.

WiiM implement PEQ in firmware on the Mini which only has a dual-core ARM SoC and no separate hardware DSP. Bluesound even implement a runtime version of Dirac on quad-core ARM A53 SoCs, in compatible devices such as the N130, also having no specialised hardware support. So, Fosi should likewise be able to implement it on their Amlogic A113X quad-core A53 SoC.

You probably mean Amazon Music support inside the Fosi app, but it's worth pointing out that you can always cast to the Fosi S3 from inside your Amazon app. I had zero trouble with that path. I am on Android. But I agree that support inside the device app is pretty much expected these days.

And yes, I also eagerly await a parametric EQ, although I'm happy that the 5 band graphic EQ is being upgraded to a 10 band graphic EQ. Ultimately both the 10 band graphic EQ and a 5 to 10 band parametric EQ are needed as selectable options.

The two above items are also my personal "must have" items that are currently missing. The other items (such as room correction) I can wait more patiently for.

Meanwhile, existing functions seem stable. I'm very happy that UPnp works and that even DSD works.

I contacted Fosi Audio directly to ask about the upcoming EQ update for the S3.
According to their reply, the initial version of the 10-band EQ will:
- use peak filters only
- have fixed Q values
- not include preamp gain

I think it may also be notable that in their reply they used two times the wording "not yet", which gives hope that these things may be considered for future updates.

I also got a strong impression that they are really listening to suggestions and want to deliver what the users want and need. So I'd like to suggest that more people write to them directly and tell them that a full featured parametric EQ is needed and explain them why it is important. It might really affect the development.

thanks ,The 10-band EQ has been developed and will be released via an OTA update upon completion of testing this month. Additionally, preset EQs will be added with status display functionality, scheduled for release next month.
