Fosi audio i5 headphones coming soon

Here is my review for the Fosi Audio i5 that launched today (August 15 2025)
Nice review. Did the wool felt modification, thanks for that insight.

My biggest complaint is not with the h/phone itself but with the meagre length of the cables - OK for use with a mobile but way too short to use with sound system, needs to be at least 2 metres.

Fortunately the i5 uses standard 3.5mm connectors in the cups so one can choose from a wealth of aftermarket cable choices.

That's not the point, Fosi should have thought this out right from the beginning and recognised that there was a need for choice and made available 2 lengths with a small adjustment in price.

They supplied 2 cables with different types of connectors in the pre-launch case.
AFAIK the regular sold version only has 1 cable (3.5mm + push-on 6.3mm adapter).

1.2m-1.5m is fine for portable and desktop duty where 2.5-5m is handy for studio and home audio (where one sits a few meter away from the system).

That leaves the choice whether to make the 3.5mm or 4.4mm 1.5m and the other 3m. Which one would that be and why ?
There is something to be said for both the 3.5(+ 6.3 adapter) to be 1.5m and 3m, the same can be said for the 4.4mm.

When you would need 3m for the 6.3mm or 1.5m for 3.5mm (with or without remote/mic) would make sense.
But 4.4mm would also be handy in both lengths.
They would then have to supply 4 cables.

Simple - no the buyer could specify which length cables they wanted.

Since you prefer to use your AV and to sit in a lounger, why not get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm extension cable and be done with it? I imagine most headphone cables in your preferred setup would leave you wanting in length no?

The less connectors in any system the better.
