Foobar alternative for PC and Android remote control

Both Kodi and MusicBee are remote controllable by Android or iOS smartphone/tablet apps.
Hey buddy, that's an excellent recommendation! I've been watching several videos about how MusicBee works, and it seems to have what I need. I'll install it on my devices to test it out and see how it performs.

Greetings from Peru!

Firulais71 is probably referring to foobar2000 Controller/Pro, but this app no longer works with recent Android releases.
Hi doc, that's right, I'm referring to Foobar 2000 Controller, which no longer works on my Android devices like it used to. As you said, it seems to have lost its remote control functionality in the latest versions, which is a big loss for its users.

I'm going to try MusicBee, which was recommended above; it seems like an excellent replacement for Foobar.

Regards.

Wait, I just found another foobar2000 remote control app - Foobar Link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.deckerth.thomas.foobarremotecontroller2&hl=en_GB

For this to work you must also install the foobar2000 Beefweb Remote Control component -
https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_beefweb

Alternatively, once the Beefweb Remote component is installed, you can also control foobar2000 from any browser on your network, by going to this URL -

Doc, I will follow the steps indicated, thank you very much for your attention to my question, I appreciate it.

Musicbee is a fantastic library / tag-naming files manager, not just a great player.

Great for sync/transcoding to external devices too.

personally i like neutron music player on android; despite the complex interface, it is a monster wrt capabilities

i currently have all the music hosted on an elderly qnap ts212p nas, streaming via my local wifi network (nas > edge routerX > unifi ap ac lite)

my current chains are:
desktop :
msi mortar max > (optical) > smsl dl100 >
  • klipsch promedia 2.1 thx using equailizer apo / peace for 7 point eq
  • focal elears, again with equalizer apo / peace with 31 point eq "The most recommended approach is using the AutoEQ preset by oratory1990, which corrects the Elear toward the Harman target."
lying in bed (post-op convalescent chill out):
  • one plus 5T (lineage 22.2 = android 15) using Neutron music player > (bluetooth LDAC) > akliam DD2 > (coaxial) > khadas tone 1 > (analogue) > alo pan am utilising only the tube amp component > akg q701 (again 31 point eq'd by oratory1990)

the discovery that neutron will magically do professional eq (once you can find it in the convoluted interface....) at the press of a radio button on the appropriate screen was mind blowing !!
the sound out of that dinky chain of components in the spare bedroom is truly gorgeous, helped along by the nos mullard rtc 5654 tubes being chef's kiss

given the smsl dl100 has bluetooth built in, i can use the one plus 5T as a remote for the desktop by using it via bluetooth instead, and really, with ldac capable of pushing 96khz, and 32 bit at up to 990kbps, i can't hear a difference - and i usually set the rates at 41000/ 16 bit / 660 for convenience

the addition of autoequaliser is a huge plus for headphones

and the 5T can push spotify lossless at 44100 / 24 bit although only the desktop via smsl can add autoeq for that conduit
