Hello all
just received as a bundle from Amazon my Focusrite Scarlett solo gen 4, Audio Technica AT2020 XLR mic and my XLR cables.
I connected the one end of the cable to the Scarlett and the other end to the microphone.
I connected the cord that came with the Scarlett (one side C and other side USB) one end 'C' to the back of my Scarlett and the other end USB to my laptop.
Issue: lights are on the Scarlett but my mic does not seem to have the blue light inside of it on like my previous USB Audio Technica mic does.
I test the mic in Adobe Audition and apparently my mic is not on. Not sure what I did wrong here - seems pretty simple to hook up?????
My laptop is running with Windows 10

At one point I did, and I made sure that my DAW was set with the correct mic under 'Preferences' . I just feel that there is no 'juice' within the xlr cable but it should have worked since I bought this as a 'bundle'. I've turned off the 48 now because I read that if it is on but your mic is not connected that it could damage the mic when it does get connected. I am at a lose here. Thanks for helping.

Well that mic will need phantom power to work. Have you tried a line level input from something to see if it works? That will be the instrument input on the front, input 1.

Also, I am pretty sure the AT2020 does not have a light inside it.

You need to use phantom 48V as stated above, just make sure to turn phantom on after mic is plugged in and off when not in use or before removal. I have the same with Scarlett 2i2.

The Solo has direct monitoring so you should be able to plug your headphones into the Solo and hear the microphone without going through the computer. That should tell you if it's a computer configuration problem or something in the hardware setup.
