With Cosmos ADC set in mono-mode, I got a THD+N of 0.00039% with USB input, meaning a SINAD of 108.17 dB, at full scale of 4.5V RMS.
For such a studio interface is way more than enough, and the input buffers are good as well, given that the SNR is better than any microphones on the market. If there would be something more that I'd want from such an interface, then it would be +20dB amplification, on top of the existing one, to be sure all of the dynamic mics will have enough gain.
Interesting! Are you using the Clarett+ or the Clarett? And is that the line output or the headphones out?
Also, is your setup just focusrite -> ADCiso?
I'm still new to measurements but something I've noticed is that I cannot get as high a SINAD as others that are also using the Cosmos devices. I've got a Grade A device and adjusted the sensitivity accordingly on the Cosmos too, but there's definitely still more for me to learn.
But back to the topic of the 2pre, I completely agree with you. This device is really good. Basically endgame for me unless I need more IO in the future
