Thanks for those pictures. I also owned the R700 and R100 from Polk. I could not compare because I did not get at the same time...

Just by chance, do you happen to have a measurement microphone, or a WiiM amp or DAC, to perform a measurement using Room Fit?

I have a mini dsp umik-1 that I use for dirac with my onkyo rz70 home theater. The avplay speakers are in my shop right now so it’s just a big open 50x60 area with stuff spread out. I could take some measurements if it’s fine leaving the speakers where they are, I’m moving them later but not for a couple weeks, they are heavy af.

I have a wiim amp ultra in that cabinet between the speakers and also have a desktop pc, just tell me what I need to do.

I dont know what im doing but here are some basic REW sweeps if I even did them right. My chair/mic is 10 ft out front and center of speakers, speakers are 10 feet apart at the front.

god damn, this speakers are just not good wtf is going on here, its like instant fatigue if you are sitting ear level with the tweeters, and the bass just sounds muddy. Mean while the R700's are fantastic, I have mofi 888's and r11 metas in the house and they are also fantastic, but these Avplay speakers are just terrible. The only thing good about them are the cabinets. ugh there has to be something I can do, the only thing I can think of is move them into a conditioned room and listen to them. For the price they should at least be decent, but I'd rather listen to ****** kef q150's than these.

Thank you @ryan74701, the speakers you purchased are not the m10-bf, posted/mentioned by @daniboun (which appear to be G4 not G5). The ones you purchased are one designed by AVPlay and expensive, as you mentioned, where the 12" woofers, mid, and tweeter are AVPlays own choice and not as recommended by the factory. It would appear that AVPlay purchases the enclosure from the factory then uses their own drivers and crossover/s.

Edit.... your post suggests AVPlays result/s are terrible/not good, don't they, although the AVPlay advertiseing suggests otherwise (ie hmm, dubious at best) and your Impressions/Comparison suggest AVPlay is not Trustworthy, don't they, which is reasonable?

Unfortunately, I’ve sold the speakers, so I’m unable to do that. In any case, your project is really cool—I took a look at the schematic, and there’s a lot of gear in your signal chain!

I got my r11 metas for $5000 even no tax brand new, and they amazing, I would say they are slightly better than the r700’s, both have good bass and detail, but I’d say the r11’s have better imaging, the r700’s can be bright, the r11’s are just good tier in or in axis or how ever you place them.

The 888’s are bass monsters and have great detail but they do lean more warm sounding, they are great living room speakers, I have them setup with a Yamaha n2000a, no need for a subwoofer, they cabinet quality is amazing looking, I have the stained brown color, they look like a high end piece of furniture.

My wife likes the way the 888’s look more than the walnut r11 metas, so that’s half of everything. Lol

Out of the three I’d pick the r11 metas, buy once, cry once.

I really want to hear the mofi v10’s, I found some in Washington state for $4500 but it’s just too far from me, they make the 888’s look like baby speakers

The supplier I think owns this “avplay” brand and assembles the speaker themselves, they sent me a video before packaging and shipping them of a rew sweep, and the back sticker on the speaker has the spl graph etc, I am guessing they build the low, mid and high drivers themselves because I can’t even reverse image search them nor find info using the drivers sticker numbers.

Queensway I believe is the company I bought them from and they were very good communicating everything, I don’t think anyone was disingenuous, speaker opinions are just very subjective. I have a speaker switch coming today so I’ll make a video switching between the two pairs.
