Austria's Finest Audio Show, November 23rd and 24th 2024.

My friend and I had the impression that there were many more younger and female visitors than the years before (quite a few kids were to be seen), although the main group of visitors were (mostly big-bellied) men aged 50+
The free admission was a great plus which will probably no longer be the case in the future, when the High End Munich moves to Vienna.

We saw a few electronic bass traps, but my friend and I weren't really impressed (would like to know what your opinion is on that topic). In those rooms that had actually implemented acoustic treatments, the systems sounded - at least in our opinion - much more convincing. As you can see in the last picture, there's a lot of room for more stalls in future fairs!

The really memorable/convincing/want-to-have setups for me were by MP&S (electrostatic speakers) and FINK Team/Epos/Candor (see above).
The sound of Dream Audio was also great, for this show anyway (despite silly prices, unmistakable, but obviously very helpful room treatment, and an overall appearance that would definitely scare away my spouse). Diora Acoustics was interesting (they had some kind of DSP running, and also heavy acoustic treatment). PMC sounded good, too.
I liked the design of Technics' new Network CD Receiver SA-C600, turntable and wireless speaker system SC-CX700, Elac's white stand speaker, Elac's tiny Eleganz BS 305, and also ARCAMs black and yellow design (no sound there).
It would have been nice if you could have heard the record players from Pro-Ject, EAT and Transrotor (Fat Bob <3), and not just lined them up next to each other.
That yellow record player by EAT was neat.
