FiiO S15 VS IPad streaming

I stream via my iPad Air (5th generation) the latest software ipadOS 18.3, via AirPlay to the FiiO S15 (also the latest software version). There are regular spikes and a kind of hiccup in the sound. When I stream to my Marantz Cinema 60 with the same iPad, it works perfectly. Tried the same exercise with an Android tablet, because the FiiO S15 also works on Android software. The same result with this too. Only more extreme interference, as if it is receiving double data at peak times. For the rest, the FiiO S15 works perfectly. Is this a bug of FiiO S15? Or could this have another cause? Everything that can emit disturbing signals is turned off except WiFi, which runs iPad and QOBUZ.

Asynchronous clocking between elements (D/A) and bad signal. Heard about that with ESS late gen and LG TV's over Toslink. They made broad line area of I/O but they didn't made antena area upgrade-able. Don't even know if it's possible to switch to sync mode. And try to upgrade signal straight and se if it helps. You are just a drop of EMI entropy in your close surroundings if you live in urban city surroundings. Short distance to rooter and 5 GHz or more band as 2.4 will be much more crowded.

Hi Zolalll, thank you for your analysis and the push in the right direction. it was probably interference. I placed the WiFi extender further away from my installation and the problem is now gone.

Do you have any first thoughts on the s15?
I've started thinking on buying one, but the first post that I'm seeing from an actual user is about noise and jitter issues...

Hi Tomereitan, I’m now using the s15 for 3 weeks and I’m very happy with it! The Qobuz sound Quality is excellent in combination with my marantz cinema 60 DAB 2x SVS subwoofer pro 2000, Martin Logan electrostaten. I connected my exelent marantz KI Pearl Lite CD player via the s15. And that one sounds even better! Before I used a Advanced Paris WTX microstream. This is absolutely much better. I was happy with that untill… I’m now struggling a littlebit with streaming from IPad to the s15. Its not stable! Sometimes its works normaal buth there is Some distortion on the line on several moment. I think the problem is commune from outside my home. Bush when using Qobuz internal s15 it’s absolutely stunning good

Jitter and noise issues I absolutely not have with normaal use from cd connection and using my Qobuz app!

I have Fiio s15 and connected my shield tv to it from usb out of shield to front side type c of fiio. Bit perfect audio out of shield tv is perfect and no hear any jitter and noise. Waiting for software update of fiio. Hardware side is almost perfect but software is terrible..

Looks like I'll go with a used matrix element s streamer\ddc.
I'll keep watching on fiio products though, IMO they are the best ROI in audio at the moment.
