Does anyone have any information on whether or not the battery is user replaceable. Spending lots of money on digital music players only to find out battery replacement is near impossible. I am considering the Fiio M23, M11S, M11 Plus or Pro.. Thanks in advance.

You “probably” could change the battery if you have the equipment to install and calibrate the new battery but as far as I’m aware of the only player with a user replaceable battery is the Ibasso DX180, good player and if I didn’t already own the Hiby R6 iii I’d consider buying one

Fiio build nice stuff but their software division doesn’t seem to gaf regarding original gui, software updates/bug fixes etc, I’d never consider Fiio for anything until they address this

Hello you all,

Newbie here. I have owned the M23 for the past 6 months. I recently purchased an SMSL DO300EX Dac. I am now using the M23 into the 300 via the USB-C cable. I was wondering what goes on in the M23 once I select the USB Dac output setting? Do all my EQ settings and adjustments within the M23 no longer work, and just the pure signal is sent to the 300?

Certainly, the 300 recognises if the source music is 44.1, 96 or 192. I have the M23 set to All-to-DSD mode. Under the USB Dac setting is the music sent in DSD format or does it revert to PCM?

Thanks for any knowledge you can pass on.

Regards Cazzesman

Slightly off topic but just wanted to mention that I recently replaced the battery in a Xduoo X2S DAP. It doesn't say anything about this on their website or in the manual. I figured I'd give it a go, as I could see it was held together with 4 small crosshead screws. Was then able to find a generic battery to replace the old one. Can't see any visible screws on the Fiio in question. This tells me that you probably could still replace the battery, but it may be a slightly more complex procedure. I once replaced a battery on my Xiaomi phone and had to prise the casing apart. Best only done if there's online info available as it is not difficult to break things. Always worth doing an online search for information but if it's a very new product, there's less likely to be any guides available to follow.
