Fiio KA13 suitable for HD660S

Hi all,

I have a HD660s which in using mainly to chill when laying in bed. At the moment om using a Fiio KA11 dongle.

I stumbled on a Fiio KA13 for under €60,- and ordered. This with the ideas I could use the same app for settings as the other Fiio and have myself a step up in quality and the ability to connect my HD660s in balanced mode.

Now I am wandering If going with the Fiio KA15 (€40,- more) or Fosi DS2 or Moondrop Dawn Pro in the same price range of the KA13 would be better alternatives. I've read the KA13 is not that efficiënt and can get warm but not sure.

I might fo with the HD660s2 in the near future as well.

Any advice would be appreciated

HD 660S and HD 660S2 are relatively higher-sensitivity headphones in the Sennheiser 6xx line up.

Unless you have a low volume problem with the KA11, you won't notice any improvement with the KA13. And I don't think there will be noticeable differences b/w KA13, KA15, DS2, and Dawn Pro.

So, if you need a greater volume, go with whatever you can get easily. Otherwise, even your KA11 will work fine---actually the KA11 is a nice device on paper and an ASR member's measurements here.

Actually I send it back and got myself the Fiio KA15 as an open box for €80,- it can use PEQ and seems to be a really cool device for the money.

Lol, I'm sending the KA15 back as well. Can't even register with the Fiio control app. The KA11 does the job for me. I'm not that critical I guess.

KA11 is really good, because it combines the excellent audio parameters of CS43131 dac with the very impressive output power of the independent SGM8262 opamp. You are talking like KA11 is just another dongle, most dongles will fail to power HD660s properly, but I always assume unbalanced, balanced it's different.
