Hi all... and soon (very) happy new year.
(Testing is done with Cosmos ADC-iso and the Cosmos APU (for the unloaded test only - Also I used my DIY Autoranger (SuperRanger) for some of it)
It's my very first review, so bare with me, if I miss something please
Anyway, I didn't find a review of the FiiO K11 (non R2R) DAC/HPA so I thought that I would do one here.
I did "only" test the HPA part, not the PreAmp. out (RCA only) here.
I bought this HPA some time ago, cause I needed something to drive my HifiMan HE400SE (32ohm) can's proberly (they for sure do right)
I can say, that I'm very satisfied with the unit.
Well, let's start with a picture of the thing, along with some pic's of my DIY HeadPhoneAmplifier LoadBox, which is needed for me to do the testing.
I start my testing with an unloaded test to look at the Sinad with (proberly) the best conditions. (With Cosmos APU Notch 998Hz)
-108 / - 107 THD+N, not bad, and waaayyy below my old ears listning level for sure.
So this measurement complies, what FiiO have pronounced also. https://www.fiio.com/k11_parameters
A bit better with SingleEnded. (Better is a nice word, it's for me excellent
)
Well, the most important measurement for me is the output level, that the FiiO K11 can supply, if you ask me, I think it's excellent for it's price range for sure.
Also it's more or less, what FiiO pronounced regarding the watt's comming out of the unit until 1% of THD+N
Last measurement is the 6 filters of the DAC, not that I really think it matters, but it's fun to do the measurement (not easy for me, but I'm hoping I got them right ???)
Hope you all enjoy, and hopefully usefull for if someone wan't to buy this DAC/HPA
Comment's are very welcome! - Again Happy New Year ALL here
Jesper.
