How can this web interface be accessed?View attachment 381795
been playing around with Fiio Control web and it works quite well, altough i heard distortion-like sound everytime i playing with filter slider or change different presets

Odo can indeed be flashed with the JA11 firmware.By the way, not sure if anyone mentioned it, but another suspected of having this kt DAC inside is the Venture Electronics ODO that sells for ca. 5 euros in AliExpress.
The peculiarity of this one is that they sell a 4.4 TRRRS version. What it does differently I don't know.
good to know.Odo can indeed be flashed with the JA11 firmware.
The 4.4 version is just for use with 4.4 connections. Otherwise it's the same as the 3.5 version.
It's not even browser agnostic, it doesn't work in firefox, only chrome based browsers.ah yes... web control out of a $15 device is truly an innovation
i would assume this is o/s agnostic? no?
How are you all finding the new firmware? I don't get any notification using Fiio Control.
I got the notification after updating the app, opening it, connecting to the device in the app and opening the EQ tab.View attachment 381835
try to update Fiio Controll app first, then you will get pop up prompt for new firmware update when you open the app

Sow now instead of half the frequency, we need to enter double our desired Hz value?Sadly I don't think this Firmware fixes the 2 big problems I have with the JA11.
1. its still not accurate with the PEQ frequency needing roughly 2x FR
2. it can randomly have a massive amount of distortion (needing to disconnect and reconnect again)
No it is the same problem as beforeSow now instead of half the frequency, we need to enter double our desired Hz value?
have you measured it?Sadly I don't think this Firmware fixes the 2 big problems I have with the JA11.

Yes but only briefly - but in a day or 2 I will publish more thorough measurements of the peqhave you measured it?
Well they said that double frequency error is fixed in this firmware. But i did not try it out yet. According to distortion - ive had that weird distortion once when i realised these weird high frequency blips during listening to music, that was weird. Another thing is that extremeley loud White noise or peeping sound like car horn sound that happens even when not listening to music, from time to time. It happens when im playing with eq settings a lot. In both cases unplugging and plugging again helps. Oh BTW im using jcally jm12 upgraded to ja11 1.8 firmwareSadly I don't think this Firmware fixes the 2 big problems I have with the JA11.

welp looks like Fiio needs to do their homework againOk guys - I promised some measurements of the JA11 - so this is the version I have installed:

So here is the JA11 compared to the Apple Dongle - while measuring a FiiO FD15 - so we are only interested in the relative differences between the 2 lines) :
View attachment 382278
Note: At full power with EQ turned off, it is slightly more powerful than the Apple Dongle but (and there is always a but ).
So first the basic distortion comparison - first the Apple Dongle + FD15 distortion:
View attachment 382281
But then the JA11 + FD15 Distortion - so higher distortion (even though I have the JA11 at slightly lower SPL in these measurements):
View attachment 382283
But its a cheap dongle so this bit did not concern me - its the next 2 things that are still my concerns with the latest Firmware:
1. Random Distortion when connected (maybe 1/2 the time it can get crazy distortion):
View attachment 382284
There are 2 measurements one was with the distortion and the second one "purple" measurement was after I disconnected and reconnected. So this is still a problem.
2. PEQ is still not accurate (and not quiet 2x):
So firstly I set 2 peak filters in the FiiO App:
View attachment 382287
But when I measured the result of this I get the following graph:
View attachment 382288
So instead of 100 and 2000 being maximised, we get a different value and its not exactly 2x I get something like 1.83 times the so 100 turns into 183 and 2000 turns into 3670.
So just to double check this I added a third negative filter at 700:

And then measured again:

So 700 turns into 1280 which again is 1.83 times.
So anyway, with this knowledge (and given the overall price of the JA11) the current firmware can be used to do a good job with EQ but I really hope FiiO fix this firmware.
