Well the 2.0 update has completely broken the android app PEQ for me. I can set a single profile and save it to the device and that seems to work, but loading profiles that I created and saved to the device is not working at all. I select a different profile and it "loads" but no changes are made to the PEQ, or sometimes random changes are made but nothing close to the actual saved profile.

Is anyone else having this issue of being unable to properly switch between saved profiles?

To clarify, I make the following EQ and save it to device:
Preamp: -1.5 dB
Filter 1: ON PK Fc 20 Hz Gain 1.5 dB Q 1.200
Filter 2: ON PK Fc 470 Hz Gain 0.9 dB Q 0.800
Filter 3: ON PK Fc 2200 Hz Gain -3.3 dB Q 1.300
Filter 4: ON PK Fc 3300 Hz Gain 1.1 dB Q 2.000
Filter 5: ON PK Fc 4600 Hz Gain -3.1 dB Q 2.000


Then if I hit reset to 0 everything out and try to reload this EQ which I just saved, I see this and must completely remake the EQ from scratch (so the saved profiles are completely broken on mine):

I noticed something with my Jcally JM12 running the JA11 2.0 firmware. When I applied a little EQ and saved it to the device, it appeared to absolutely nuke the volume even though I only used -4dB for master preamp. So I just reset the EQ filters and master gain to flat across the board and saved that 'flat' EQ to the JM12. Then I measured an IEM in REW using the JM12 as the output. Then I turned off the EQ in the Fiio app and saved that to the device and remeasured the IEM keeping all the other input/output levels the same in Windows/REW. And it looks like just having a 'flat' EQ enabled on the device (no actual changes, just turning the EQ on and leaving everything zeroed out in Custom) reduced the level by about 12dB.

Has anyone else noticed this? Could it just be a quirk of using the Jcally JM12 with JA11 firmware?

Yes, +12dB on the master slider is actually 0dB.
So +6 is actually -6 and your -4 setting is actually -16dB.

Set it to +8dB if you want -4dB preamp.

Yes, the default 0dB for opening PEQ is -12dB, so you can increase it to the maximum value（+12db） without clipping distortion.

Yes, yes, I also have this issue. The problem seems to be with Fiio Control 2.3.6. When I first started using 2.3.5, I didn't have this problem

I think at this point I'm just using the JA11 as a dongle dac without any of the DSP features. I'll keep an eye one this thread, though, to see if they ever manage to sort out stable software and firmware.

What EQ issues does V1.9 have? As far as I can remember, V1.9 solved the EQ issues.

The issues were my mainly my laziness, to be honest. Happy to say I've loaded and saved a preset for my Tanchjim Ones - very impressive for less than £10!!

There may be serious issues with JA11 directly outputting and playing 44.1kHz audio, perhaps it's just a compatibility issue with IQOO and VIVO. I'm not sure if this is a system issue or a problem with JA11 itself. There are some software on the Android system that can output waveforms, but most of them do not have the function of setting the output sampling rate. So I made three files, all of which output 1000Hz sine waves. Their sampling rates are 44.1khz/48khz/96kHz, respectively. Then I put them into my phone and played them using the built-in player. Then I measured the output waveform using the sound card ADC. The results are as follows:

48kHz/96kHz is not particularly good, but it is tolerable (I don't think there will be any audible issues), and there are significant file issues at 44.1kHz. Also, the Exclusive USB mode of the player performs well.

These are the audio files I have created. If you are interested, you can test them yourself. It is worth noting that most phones may not be able to automatically switch sampling rates, so 44.1kHz audio will be output by the system SRC to 48kHz (which can be viewed in FIIO Control).

There has always been a problem on VIVO (IQOO) Snapdragon phones (because these phones have the function of automatically switching sampling rates).

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to resolve this issue and I can only continue to use exclusive mode

Yes, but in order to bypass SRC, other phones need to work in exclusive mode. This is no different from a vivo phone...

Same except I have the Jcally JM12 with the same KT02H02 chip inside. I know I could flash it with Fiio firmware but I'm not in a hurry. Sooner or later the curiosity will get to me though.

Well just bought jm 12 like month ago, flashed it to ja11 immediately aaaand looks like its alright using latest firmware. But i got no adc so cant really measure anything. But PEQ is a nice Little addon. Gives lots of possibilities changing it with no problem in app, this is next lvl.

I went ahead and flashed the v2 Fiio firmware on JCally JM12, to try the PC Asio driver. No issues except once I had the PC Asio driver running the dongle would stop populating Windows sound devices next time I plugged it in. For now I'm using the dongle driverless on PC.
