FiiO has released the USBDAC JA11, with an initial price of only $9 (69RMB) and support for PEQ DSD128 PCM384

This depends on the music player. Some players can use a dedicated USB DAC to bypass the system's SRC. Generally, more professional players have this setting, but when the music player occupies the USB DAC alone, other apps in the system will not sound, including incoming calls.
Can U show me how did U did this tq

What did U do I am using Spotify and kkbox

I'm not sure if these two apps have this feature. My playback software, such as QQ music, Hiby music, etc., have this feature, like the HiBy music shown in the picture
“Exclusive HQ USB audio access”

you can also search “exclusive usb audio access” at google

U just on this option nothing else?

I seem to have bricked mine within ten minutes of receiving it.
Worked fine as just plug and play, but once I downloaded the Fiio control app and connected the device it automatically began a firmware update. The update hung on 0.8% so I cancelled the update and now app won't connect to device and won't work on windows 10 PC or my android tablet (with or without control app).
Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

funny thing is that happens to me too.

you can try to upgrade the firmware manually with this app

i dont have much opportunity to hook it up to an android phone and even then i would use BT

but using exclusively on windows10 the ja11 seems to update fine and work off their web app and their drivers and toolbar app

it seems like fiio is 2nd rate as far as android goes

Did someone test jcally jm16 stock to see of it has distortion same as "modified" one? I upgraded it after couple of days so I cannot check anymore, but I'm curious if stock firmware doesn't have this issue, I may go for a second dongle to leave stock if that would be the case

Well the 2.0 update has completely broken the android app PEQ for me. I can set a single profile and save it to the device and that seems to work, but loading profiles that I created and saved to the device is not working at all. I select a different profile and it "loads" but no changes are made to the PEQ, or sometimes random changes are made but nothing close to the actual saved profile.

Exact same thing happened to me; updating to 2.0 via the utility on a Windows PC fixed it. Which was an arse, as I'm primarily a Mac user.

It's a shame Fiio, Moondrop etc can't write 'working' software for their DSP dongles and cables.

Post the results please if you do that, it May be helpful for others since it looks like a common problem
Very happy to report the fix using the Fiio updater tool has worked and I no longer have a bricked dongle! Thank you very much for the help @Apesbrain @gufkl
I updated to FW v2.0 and this seems to have introduced issues with the EQ from v1.9.
Can't grumble for £10 really.

What EQ issues does V1.9 have? As far as I can remember, V1.9 solved the EQ issues.

I am glad that I am now using firmware 2.0 and have conducted some simple tests. The conclusion is as follows:

There is no problem setting EQ in the APP. I have set 3 EQ in the APP, 100Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, and Gain=10

JA112.0.PNG

A simple frequency sweep revealed that there was no problem with the frequency, but we noticed that the EQ at 100Hz was slightly smaller than the gain at 1kHz/2kHz.
Next, we will test the web client:
Similarly, I have set up the same three-stage EQ in the web client:
JA1120web.PNG
JA1120web2.PNG
At this point, we scanned the frequency and found that EQ had become 2x

But I am glad to find that the save button can now be clicked. Without hesitation, I clicked this button, and JA11 seemed to restart for a moment. Then I conducted a frequency sweep test again:

JA1120webs.PNG

Now we have found that the frequency is correct, the only small regret is that sometimes the gain is not correct after saving on the web interface, and we need to check and fix it ourselves

Unexpectedly discovered, the MIC input specification of JA11 is still acceptable, with 32-bit 384K and little noise.

By the way, if the Fiio driver is installed, the JA11 with Mic function will not be recognized as a sound card or microphone, and the driver needs to be switched by opening the Device Manager:

Right click and select Upgrade Driver。

The gain seems correct to me. What you see at 1KHz and 2KHz it's the mutual influence of the two close filters. With Q you set for them, each one influences the other one. The 10dB gain at 1KHz on the graph is even highter because of the 2KHz filter influence reaches below 1KHz. Move the 2KHz to 10KHz or use a higher Q and all the three filters will most probably peak at the same level.

I downloaded V2.0 and I read somewhere that it introduced issues with the EQ.
I'm not even sure how you load filters, but on the control app I can toggle the EQ on/off but if I attempt to change anything an error message pops up.
I'll have a play later, see if I can figure it out
