Thanks for sharing. It looks pretty good but I'm a bit concerned about the treble. Would love to see this measured on one of the GRAS rigs, they tend to give me a better insight into how I may experience treble than 5128 does. Guess I'll have to wait til Amir gets hands on it.
 
There are a few measurements for these on squig.link already. They look pretty good so far.
tbh I don't trust any measurements not made by Amir mostly because the others are being made subjectivists on non standardized rigs with no protocol incentivized to present pretty looking measurements and thus are often presenting overly smoothed measurements to hide imperfections

You can trust sai.squig , Oratory, listener , hangout.audio/crinacles and resolves, they all know what they're doing and have proper equipment, if not the same as amirm (GRAAS 43AG)

Oratory's measurements are for EQ not for review, I guess I should have specified I meant within the context of reviews. The rest absolutely are as I described, presenting overly smoothed measurements to hide imperfections, some don't even post distortion measurements or present them (and frequency responses) in misleading ways. Harman's research was done on the GRAS but reviewers are increasingly talking about the B&K 5128 as being superior to the GRAS and switching to it misleading people into thinking the GRAS Harman curve is 1 to1 to their approximation of the curve on the B&K. Amir and Oratory are the only ones actually following the science

The only one who is misleading here is you.

The FT1 Pro which uses a very similar driver (or at least one with the same dimensions) had either QC or design flaws which caused the bass to clip with harmon bass boost. Your review of that headphone didnt show that, but at least the FT7 not compressing by 1db in the bass is reassuring.
 
The drivers of the FT7 are quite different in construction.
It is a seriously good sounding planar magnetic headphone that really only needs to have the 8.5kHz peak lowered about 5dB.
This will 'smooth' the treble.

I could turn up the volume very high on the FT1pro and JT7 and could not 'clip' it.
Perhaps an amp or digital signal was clipping ?
Maybe a specific unit had an issue ?

I just freshly retested my pair, and yes, this causes extremely audible distortion and I can hear it in real content, and I remember it being especially bad in movies. Take this clip from the movie Bolt; at minute 3:03, I can hear audible rattling and thumping that I cannot hear in my Para 2 on high gain. Not only that, the amount that it distorts is different between each earcup.

Amp is JDS Atom Amp 2 at max volume in the low gain setting, which ought to be 2 volts. At 18 ohms, that ought to be about 220 milliwatts peak, and with an effective -4db digital cut, that lowers to less than 100 milliwatts peak. "Clipping" might not be the right word, it sounds like a rattle that more and more resembles a thumping sound as it gets louder, so driver excursion limit? I could definitely get my Para 2 to clip the internal amp on my Qudelix 5k and that sounds like actual harmonic distortion, not thumping. Furthermore

This was their first foray in planar magnetics.
When your copy is like this I would contact FiiO and get it replaced.

This all does NOT apply to the FT7 and most likely also not to the JT7 (again different driver).
The FT1 PRO I tested did not have this issue at that time.

Actually, Sai at unheardlabs experienced clipping even earlier on the JT7. According to him, he reached out to Fiio and they also confirmed it was a real QC issue known to them. https://unheardlab.com/2026/02/15/fiio-jt7-review-a-budget-disruptor-or-a-bridge-too-far/

You can see the nearly 10 percent harmonic distortion in the bass in one earcup at a mere 94db. the other channel stays below 1 percent at all frequencies.

You're correct that both cases can be resolved through customer service.
