Fiio FT1 DAC

Yes they sound muddy a bit. Replace cable on silver one for example trn t3 pro with adapter from mmcx on 3.5.
Simple EQ: down 125hz peak on 1.5-2dbs, 3.5-4.5kHz up on 2dbs, 6kHz down on 4dbs.

Same thing was when Ive replaced on same cable on 770 pro x and on signature pro.. for some reason simple silver cable for 20$ seems to be costly for headphone developers to remove noticeble muddiness in bass region..

So hard to test yourself other then type thousand times like it matter of belief other than actual results in your head. Belief is strong but not that, if you sceptical. Ive already typed that you can hear less than 1%. Ive tested everything I suggest by myself on different gear/time/combinations a lot. Defenetly more than you. So, you can test it and come back after you will get the result. You can also thank me for taking the time to recommend something that really works and is not expensive at all.

on my windows PC with a scarlett Solo, the sound is better, better bass yet

Julian Krause measured the HP out on that and its the worst in his list in terms of THD and crosstalk.

Bet you didn't noticed that.

I sold it a few weeks ago and switched to TOPPING Dx1.

I hadn't actually noticed anything.

I just signed up after searching on here for reviews of the FT1, and I feel I would be inclined to say change the source before changing the headphone or even the EQ. I don't have the Apple dongle, but my partner who sings and records guitar has a Scarlett Solo, and their Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee, a pretty universally praised headphone sounded awful out of that source vs my own sources. I also just bought the FiiO FT1 and I can't say that I find it muddy or muffled out of my THX 788 streaming from Audirvana, I would say it sounds clear and detailed, but with a fairly small soundstage. I have not tried EQing it yet but I also don't feel much need to.
