Ferrite choke on main earth ??

Hi, i noted on the NAD C298 a ferrite choke on the main earth, can someone explain what is the purpose ??

So that the NAD C298 can pass the radiated interference test.

In the distant past, you would sometimes see ferrite chokes on the AC line cords of printers and desk-top computers. So that they could pass the radiated interference tests.

Why would you want to decouple the ground like that? I'd want any HF garbage generated in switch-mode equipment to have a direct path to it.
