This is what I hope to be one of a new of super valuable music threads where we highlight music that is exceptionally recorded and is a joy to listen to.

Julianne Baird on various Dorian recordings. Exquisite singing, acoustic venues and sound engineering.

The new Catherine Polachek album is stunning, I can't stop listening to it - "Desire, I Want to Turn Into You."
Yes, I got addicted to “Welcome To My Island” a few months ago!
I still use the track “Caruso” Amit mentioned back on page one for testing female vocals and detail (off “Meet Me In London” by Antonio Forcione and Sabrina Sciabba).
Last night I listened again to Babooshka by Kate Bush with greater attention, an incredible performance with interesting percussion, bass, guitar and stereo effects. Added to the “Hifi Test“ playlist :)

To date, I've only heard this track on FM radio (albeit from a pretty high quality transmssion chain: Vermont Public [radio] in... umm... Vermont ;) ) and on YT... but it's pretty darned good. I am a sucker for this kind of stuff.

Witches of Elswick, Honey for the Bee (in case the YT video doesn't play in your neck of the woods)

Perhaps you could say that I am a fan. World's greatest living jazz singer-songwriter, imho. Perhaps Cecile McLorin-Salvant might equal her someday. Please note that the category is narrower than appears at first blush.
