We only had one console stereo, an old grundig (which certainly had that fat tube sound, all tube unit) , and my sisters played the sound of music soundtrack until even I knew and liked many of the songs. And I did like the movie at the time, it actually had kids in it, like I was at the time.
I was born in Salzburg, Austria. I also happened to be there when they were filming it. (I was 5 & turned 6 while I was there at that time). Growing up I was taken to many live music events and my mother sang with a group of other European Women who did several events (October Fests or things like you would find in Helen, GA) around the Charleston, SC area in the 60's, 70's & 80's. I did not realize how lucky I was to go see all this live music in Charleston, SC & in Salzburg, Austria until I was an adult.

How about the aria by the Diva in "The Fifth Element"? "The Voice" Belongs to an Albanian opera singer named Inva Mula Tchako. They ONLY edited the part where the pitches changes (towards the end, because a human voice can't change pitches that fast).

It's probably a good thing nobody told her:
Bloody legend.

I might as well post something else while I'm here.
Ainslie Wills is an Australian singer schooled on jazz but preferring pop / rock, and known for being at least as good live as on record:

There's not exactly a shortage of female vocalists in my collection, so I might post some more later.

Some of them are good. Makes ya want to be a sing-ger. A couple are screamers. Ethel Merman was a screamer. Hard on the speakers. The piece from movie Mulholland Drive gave me a clear vision that Make America Great Again means Make America Twin Peaks. We already there.
