Feedback on Shipping from Manufacturing

Anyone interested in trading some Tekton Mini Lores for these speakers?

If you would entertain another product in the future, I would suggest Line Audio Microphones from Sweden. https://www.lineaudio.se/index.html They were direct, then they went to distributors. The nearest is in Canada today. They seem to buy Chinese or Japanese capsules in bulk, test them, use the good ones, and dispose of the rest.

In the small diaphragm condenser microphone business for music recording, Schoeps and DPA are well respected. Then you find AKG, Sennheiser, Neumann, Telefunken and their ex-employee spinoffs . There are about a dozen respected boutique small diaphragm condenser microphone makers, plus at least a hundred also running. Then there is the calibrated measurement microphone world. The small diaphram condenser microphone world has DPA, Schoeps and boutique at $1500 on up, many in the $500 to $1000 range, Line Audio about $150, then DIY unsorted capsule microphones like Micbooster Clippy under $100.

It would be interesting to compare one in a static position to the Gefell or whatever microphone your Klippel uses, or see if there is friendly microphone testing in a local anechoic chamber.

I follow the Facebook group Classical Music Location Recording https://www.facebook.com/groups/2165880873644305, and Line Audio is respected there as a budget alternative.

I don't know what their volume is or whether they want a US distributor, but they could be synergistic with ASR/Tested Audio Store. Their principal would probably be interested in ASR as well. Of course it is fine to decide getting into microphones is a bridge too far.

Could do if someone can send me one.

I think they have plans to build every kind of speaker. :) For the store, I am being very conservative and waiting to fully tests new products before carrying them.

I think that’s a great idea. With your knowledge it’s a can’t miss proposition.
For people like me, buying the product is nearly solely based upon your recommendation. I’m not a sycophant, I am simply basing my regard on what I have observed over the years. That’s a precious status to achieve for most. I know you realize this.

Troel has been doing it a long time. Something to be said for that level of success, I'm sure he's learned a lot.

However, I do have the question as to whether he embraces and/or has a good knowledge of the technological advances that have taken speaker building to new levels. Things like Vituixcad (or similar commercial options), Klippel or the manual way of measuring speakers with REW.

These tools allow builders to test and model small tweaks in a design that just weren't possible in years past. This has really upped the level of accuracy and smoothness in modern speakers.

DIY options like the Mechano23, which was designed using modern tools using pretty low cost components and simple box design are incredibly good compared to DIY of years past. And commercial options like these Ascilab speakers that have been meticulously designed with modern tools and test out better than almost any speaker of their class.

These speakers have eclipsed anything in their respective price range going back to be beginning of time. If Troel hasn't kept up with these technological advances or if he doesn't have the expertise to effectively use all these tools, then his speakers just aren't going to be as good from a sound perspective. His woodworking skills are incredible and his speakers are solid performers. Do they match the best of today? Until some of them are put on a Klippel, we won't really know.

I'm looking forward to the next generation of tools. There is no reason why something like Vituixcad can't iterate through thousands of designs to automatically come up with an optimum design given a set of drivers or even a set of criteria. Basically an AI automated version of the tools that does it automatically for you and gives you the drivers, box, and crossover to meet your goals.

Even though "audiophiles" are a rare breed any more, it's a great time to be one!! I just wish my ears were as good as they were 40 years ago!!
Oh yes...I get the "wish my ears were as good as they were 40 years ago". However, I can still hear things in audio that my wife with better hearing can't...but that is due to training and experience - something I lacked 40 years ago....so there is that!

If I were to buy these, I would not pay an extra $70 for faster shipping. These are likely not someone’s first speakers, so most would probably “rough it out” with their current setup until their order arrives.
Couple of bar tabs or a few Big Mac “value” meals

Could you take me to school and name some - that you believe - are the best?
I wouldn't say best as I don't know all, but here few exemplary clearly well engineered ones with optimised radiation:

Thanks bud!

I won’t mind waiting for additional couple of weeks or so if that could save 70$

It is 5 to 6 weeks extra by boat.
That’s too long.
I hope you are close to get the new website up and working with the accurate delivered cost. I think knowing final coat would help in getting to final decision quickly (for most).

I'm not sure I would get a pair, but if I did I would probably pay the extra $70. I wouldn't in order to save 5-6 weeks. But you commented in your first post that the shipment wouldn't even start until the next batch is ready. Is that another month, or more? Then you've tipped my scale to paying the $70.
