Hey you all...

As some of you know, a few months ago I decided to open an online store to distribution Ascilab speakers in US.

Based on voting from membership (thank you!), we placed a rather large, preliminary order a few months ago. As of this writing, fair number of the speakers are built, and others are being finished.

We have a choice in shipping from Korea to us. Standard shipping will cost half as much as air freight but will take a month or more to get here (and then we have to ship it to you). Air freight on the other hand gets here in a week! Further, for ocean shipping, we have to wait until all the speakers are ready whereas with Air, they can be shipped immediately, letting us fulfill orders almost immediately.

Another aspect is that if everyone come through with their pre-order commitment, we have already pre-sold our first order! Staying with ocean shipping means waiting a month or more for production of the next batch, then another month for shipping. So follow on orders will likely take us to end of the year if not beginning of next year. :(

If you are interested in these speakers, especially if you have already contacted me, please post whether you would pay a premium of say, $70 to have your order shipped by air. Nothing is a commitment. I just need to know which route we need to take as far as our first order.

If it were up to me, we would go all Air and eat the cost but we just don't have that kind of margin. Hence the quest to find out how much you value the faster and more flexible delivery.

Thanks,

Congrats and good luck with the company!

As the title says, the name of the new store is "TestedAudio.com." Yes, boring :) but descriptive in that nothing will be sold without my personal testing and scrutiny. The site has been registered for a while now and I am working on building the storefront (using shopify.com).

Thanks,
Yes, i would happily pay extra for the C6B in modern grey we discussed in PM. Cheers,
:)

I am pleased AsciLab and their dealers are offering performant loudspeakers, especially as Revel has yet to offer successor models to their Performa3 and Concerta2 series of loudspeakers.

Starting and funding a business with no firm confirmation of sales proves to me that Amir is a regular stand up guy. I would have been getting credit card numbers months ago just in case. Amir is a man who can be trusted to walk the walk no matter what undertaking is in his sights. Well done, my friend, a credit to entrepeneurs everywhere.

Curious if the store might expand to other audio lines?
Yes, in a very slow deliberate, curated way. Ultimately, I like to offer anything that I would personally recommend.

Aren't there at least two different models?

I have been buying things off & on for my stereo since 1975 (yeah, Quadriphonic things). I have never (until recently [a few days]) had to wait for something for my stereo.

But IF I were buying these, I would pay for the quickness of air freight.

Having spent 17 years living on ships (and having things air freighted to the ships next destination, which the ship then did not go to at that time (due to 3 typhoons in the area, one of which we had to go through): the time line vagaries of having it go by ship vs $70...I would do my best to find a way to spend the $70.

I am waiting to see some of the future speakers (particularly from this company) before (or IF) I commit to any new ones.

I won't buy from the US, but yes, as a rule always give the customer the choice or the option.

Best of success to your new endeavor and sounds like it is already off to a great start.:)

But I see a conflict of an unintended kind here:
I have bought every kind of -reasonably priced- audio gear I needed and mostly based on your philosophy of "tested audio" on these pages.
There is only one other remaining piece of hardware that may open my wallet in the future: An ES9843Pro based ADC w/XLR inputs and multiple USB-C outputs.

Fantastic news, congratulations ! Would it be possible to buy it from Canada and get it delivered to Toronto or only for ASR US based members?
