"The Marseille Contract" (1974):
There is a scene in this film that is every audiophile's wet dream, at minute 25:
The omnipotent professional killer (Michael Caine) is introduced by putting a needle on a pickup with the help of a watchmaker's loupe.
So anyone who can master the art of replacing a needle can also discreetly eliminate fellow human beings.
Actually, one should ask oneself which idiot designed this pickup.
He puts the pickup on a record and Beethoven's Fifth blares - he is a killer dude!
One floor up, a blonde beauty is already waiting for him in bed.
She turns up the amplifier next to the bed even louder so that the music drowns out
whatever other noises the two of them are about to produce.
It should be clear by this point that the killer is an idiot if he sends a low-level signal about 6m to an amp
and needs to run up and down a narrow spiral staircase just to turn over a record.
Accordingly, he dies at the end.

Fitzcarraldo lugging a phonograph along is surely an act of audiophile devotion.

"High Fidelity" is all about record collecting culture. The Debut of Jack Black, super-annoying record store clerk, surprisingly good singer. Worth watching, but not about audiophilia nervosa.
It has guys in it who work in a record store and just like listening to music to listen to music (although they are slightly elitist about a lot of indie music), which is what this should all be about.

It's also about relationships. But it should be on everyone's viewing list. Along with Juliet, Naked.

Boogie Nights... obviously its not about hifi but it plays a big plot point:

Is this the right thread for this? What is the identity of this hifi ? It has vague AKAI vibes about it.

The two at the bottom are Panasonic SV-3700 DAT recorders;

You may have been thinking of these old Akai samplers, (950/1000/3000/3000XL);

The top one is an Ashly 4.24G four channel graphic equaliser and system processor;

Not sure about the 2nd item in the rack.
