For Sale a pair of Cornscala’s made by Bob Crites. Cornscala’s are a hybrid of the Klipsch Cornwall (the Bass) and the Klipsch LaScala (Midrange and Tweeter). It was so successful that just a few years ago Klipsch upgraded their Cornwall lll’s to Cornwall lV’s which looks like the Cornscala. I have owned these speakers for about 12 years now and upgraded with a new Eminence 15 woofer, the midrange already had that large magnificent Martinelli horn with the tried and true Klipsch K-55-V drivers with new gaskets and diaphragms plus I upgraded the tweeter from the old Klipsch K-77 and pot metal horn to New B&C DE10-8 tweeters and SMAHL aluminum tweeter horns. All this wrapped in wood oak cabinets ( no MDF glued wood chips ). I should mention they have a very high 102db sensitivity, so you can use a 2 watt tube amp up to 200 watt solid state! The Crites crossovers was specially tweaked with updated capacitors.
The sound is as you would expect - a huge soundstage (width and depth) and pinpoint accuracy with singers and instruments and absolute realism in clarity. My friend loves coming over and listening to them calls them scary intensity. Voices and acoustic guitar are just unreal and those 15 inch woofers give you that in your face (and chest) intensity. Reason for selling is I need the space as I recently acquired my dream speakers, which are the Klipschorns. Funny enough the Klipschorns weren’t all that better than the Cornscala’s but I am working on updating the Klipschorns now.
Originally had them at $3,000 just lowered them to $2,600. Cash or PayPal works and I can ship but prefer pickup as they are just under 100 lbs each. I am located in Lafayette, Indiana. Any questions will be answered. If you want, I will include an HH Scott 299 T amplifier with new power capacitors. A nice sounding system.
