Extreme Snake Oil

And of course the effect that tiny, tiny metal cup supposedly has on room acoustics varies greatly with the metal it is made of. No need to guess how the price of those metals correlates to the quality of the effect.
it fixes "hi-fi veterans" hearing loss caused by age and enviroment too I presume

World of audiophile accessories is alien to me but then I do have a sweet spot for actual audio eccentrics which may, sometimes, indulge in things esoteric - like this gentleman showcasting his system in rather old video posted on non audio related channel. I find it rather charming and genuinly interesting (and I want his CD player). Which makes me wonder where the line between hobby and madness lies :D

Personally, I subscribe to the belief that a fool and his money are easily parted. In my eyes, in todays society with readily available information literally at our fingertips, if you're an educated adult and you can't research whether a product is genuine or viable, then you are fair game. If it seems too good to be true it usually is.

The alternative would be to regulate speech which would be an unmitigated disaster.

Remember what was done to Galileo.

Check this out:

The "Luna Series" consisting of a pre amp, power amp and dac, "engineered without compromises".

Price: $500.000
(Yes, five hundred thousand !)

Sadly (but not surprising) the only information they provide is endless exaggerated superlative marketing babble, silver traces and what super duper caps etc. they use and so on, but not one single measurement, no distortion data, nothing.
If it really is cost-no-object engineered and the best of the best like they say, how come there's no proper data? One surely would show it to proof the claims, and try to justify the price, no?

Compare that to something like the benchmark AHB2 & Dac etc for example and what reliable & honest data, measurements and even explanations of the used technology they provide. That also is not cheap and already overkill i think. But the "Luna System" costs 50 times or so more.

$500.000 for....... getting no improvement LOL :)

Anything above $5,000 for an electronic component and the price becomes the product. The only one way to one-up the competition with a “better product” is to just increase the price, because more price equals more better.

Unless you need a power amp that is a lot of power. But I generally agree.
